Re: The Hobbit

Many people said a similar thing about CDs vs. LPs and probably VHS vs. DVD or DVD vs. BD too (it's too real, too digital). Lets see the film before passing judgement, all they've seen is unfinished clips. Besides, surely most people will see it in 24fps, won't they? I can't imagine there are too ma...

Re: The Raid

Stunned there hasn't been more interest in this, especially considering the director used to be one of our own! Written my review here . Cool, thanks for your thoughts. So the action is good but what about the story? Is it up there with the best of martial arts film stories or are we talking Thai m...

Re: UK: Total Recall SE (July 16th)

September 3rd. Supposed to have a brand new transfer by the same company which worked on Alien/Aliens restoration. What's your source for that please? There's a Terminator Blu-ray thread here: http://www.bulletsnbabesdvd.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=6183 Interesting steelbook artwork for The Ter...

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?

Personally I can't. They're always just computer games. I've never had any time for role playing or games with lots of story and things to work out.

Give me an arcade styler racing, shooting or beat em' up any day. I tend to get bored of those pretty quickly nowadays.

Re: What general film/series have you just seen.. marks out

X-Men: First Class (2011) - 3.5/5 The CGI was a bit naff and some of the mutants were embarrassing, but this was good, enjoyed it as much as The Avengers. I thought about the same. It's better made than both X2 and X-Men 2 but oddly I prefer X-Men 2. X-Men: First Class has no serious problems, it j...

Re: What general film/series have you just seen.. marks out

The UK blu-ray is decent quality, the extras are just a selection of interviews for each actor (annoyingly identical questions are asked of each actor, so you get to hear the plot explained 4 times) plus a trailer. I believe it's out in June: Carnage: 4 out of 5 Penelope and Michael Longstreet (Jodi...

Re: Prometheus (2012)

Good to hear. It's the 2D showing for me. After seeing Avengers in 3D I like 3D more but it's still a total gimmick and frankly the darkness plus having to wear glasses (glasses on glasses is annoying) pisses me off more than the (very) occasional benefit to 3D.

Avengers Assemble: 4.25/5: I actually really enjoyed it, even though it was slightly longer than it needed to be. Some of the set pieces were great and I loved the wisecracks and deadpan humour in the script :D It's really good isn't it. I'll be getting the blu-ray, that's not something I've been a...

I'm surprised she agreed to that poster though. What's it about? Is she a hooker?

Logan's Run (1976-USA) ** Good premise... not so good execution. Agreed. The ending is really poor too. They've been muting a remake for years, it could easily be better. Johnny English Reborn (UK, 2011) – 3/5 (airplane viewing) Another fun Johnny English movie – possibly slightly better than the o...

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!

I'm skint. I can wait. I've got other discs to watch in the mean time. I'm certainly getting it though but spending £12 on a DVD seems wrong in 2012, even taking into account a BD is unlikely to come any time soon.

Re: What general film/series have you just seen.. marks out

I think he wanted her to know that the woman she had held accountable all this time, couldn't have been responsible for what she was charged with (writing that letter), and the fact that 'Winslet' had left her money and that tin for her, showed Fiennes and perhaps also that woman that she had at le...

I'm thinking of someone else. Some British actress who got eaten by an alligator or something. I seem to recall whilst giving a blowjob. Any ideas?

But yes Adele Silva is hot. I've not looked at her long enough to say about her boobs.

The Reader 4/5 I saw this recently too. I thought the first half was definitely stronger than the second and the most interesting part and like you say Winslet is a great actress. She's naked for much of the first half too, always a bonus. The scene when Fiennes gives the tin to the daughter of one...
