Re: GoldenEye: R1 SE vs. R1 UE vs. R2 Blu-Ray

Yes, Goldeneye suffers from DNR, but it's a massive improvement on the DVDs. Just think how amazing it could have looked, however... We still have no idea what's on the UK steelbook's mystery second disc(?). Yeah I'd get it, if I wasn't happy with my R1 DVD. It's the only other one I would get thou...

Re: GoldenEye: R1 SE vs. R1 UE vs. R2 Blu-Ray

The new BD doesn't look too bad IMO. Yes I see DNR but I also see some detail too. We need to see larger captures to say for sure but it's certainly not Predator fuck-up. I'll just be getting Tomorrow Never Dies BD come February when it's released though. For me there are too many to pick up and the...

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!

Bloody hell that is cheap but I'm holding out for the extended cuts. I've waited this long and unless it's less £20 or less I have no interest in that silly 15 disc box set. Thanks, I thought you'd be the one to reply. p.s - Apologises for any untoward comments in the past btw. I'm not on here much ...

Where's the cheapest to pick it up? I'm totally behind where's the best place to get Criterion Blu-rays from. Thanks.

Re: Windows 8

Work with change, not against it. Think of the Windows 8 Start Screen as an accompaniment, not replacement for the Desktop. Windows 8 doesn't stop me using Windows like I always have but I also have useful News and Weather apps too. It's also that bit slicker and faster than Windows 7. I like it (bu...

Re: The General DVD/HD Disc Bargains Thread!

Hey guys Anyone know where you can get Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray for less than £14 (eBay)? I'm thinking about £12. I'm also interested in The Lord of the Rings Extended Cut Blu-rays that are released Monday. I cannot find them for less than £11 each at Amazon? A good price but less so when you multi...

Personally I like the mixture of aspect ratios and hope they do it again. You muppets for not seeing it in TDKR in the cinemas though.

The Dark Knight is my fave of the trilogy. I'll be getting the Rises BD for sure.

Re: The General HD Releases Thread!

It looks pretty poor without the spear. I seem to recall he dies pretty violently. Technically, Brad is right. If the BBFC haven't passed that particular version then the certificate doesn't apply. What's the precedence here? We just know the UK Avengers will eventually be cheap but the USA one will...

WTF! Despite being more not less cut surely it cannot still display a British certificate? It's not the version the BBFC passed.

Re: James Bond: 50th Anniversary Blu Ray Collection

There's another BD coming? Any idea how it improves on the existing 2 disc? Other than being uncut obviously. I've still got the 1 disc, by all accounts the AV was pretty much identical (TrueHD vs. PCM on the original disc but who cares). I'm happy with it, it's cut nowhere near as bad as the US PG-...

Can someone remind me, the HKL Platinum Edition. Does it feature the longest director approved cut or at least a director approved cut? It's the one I have too and I'm happy with it. It's a bit dark but it's acceptable. The remix is fine for me. Thanks. Funnily enough I was thinking about checking i...

What's happened to the reviews? You could at least type a sentence, ratings alone tell you very little (especially when they mean totally different things to everyone here).
