Re: Paris ban on Muslim street prayers

To an extent but Asians (and I know I'm grossly generalising) have no perspective of independence. It all comes from a family perspective and that's a polar opposite to living on your own. I know I'd hate still living with my family, I like my own space too much. I know what you mean. In our cultur...

Strangers invite you into their homes? Blimey. :D It happened to me whilst in India, pretty much. I chatted with someone on a bus the night before and the next day was having lunch in his families house. Brad, it must seem unbelievable and maybe even stupid to someone who has never experienced it.

@Mark You can find an answer to any point of yours in my long post, for example when you suggest I said that hospitality and friendliness only existed in an Islamic country. I've been waiting to hear what you've had to say Lost Dragon. Anything further to add? :) What else is there to add? Things just repeat themselves. I'm done discussing faith on this board. Been there as you know. Nothing is gonna change. It's so funny, because Mark arguments in a way as if he had o...

Mark, what Islamic country have you been to? What was your first-hand experience of visiting and experiencing an Islamic country on location? From the way you write it seems that you sure didn't experience "multi-faith/multi-culturalism" when you were there.

Laughably heavy-handed ultra-left wing propaganda.
Political intentions aside, it is a very well-made film, though, isn't it?

Thanks! Looking forward to the UK BD. Hope it is gonna be uncut. The cover art matches the BD release of 'Scarface'. As for the Japanese cover art, it might work in Japan, because people there might actually know the actors on the cover. In the UK you'll be lucky to find someone who knows Beat's face.

This film was in the press since the end of last year or so, because Michelle Yeoh got banned from Burma for meeting with Aung San Suu Kyi.

Hadn't seen the trailer, yet. Thanks.

Law Abiding Citizen - 3/5
Solid cast. What a shame the film went so much over the top. It wasn't believable anymore towards the ending. I don't need a film to be realistic, but it has to be believable.

Wow! The footage in the trailer looks better than all of the first film. Shot on-location in Turkey amongst other places.

CTHD is by no means an arthouse film. Why is it that these days any film that doesn't feature your typical Hollywood actors is being called an arthouse film? To me CTHD is a solid wuxia film with a solid storyline, solid fight choreography, solid cast, solid art department and solid music. The cinem...

I don't like Scott's recent outings. God, what would I give for another film in the same vein of 'Black Rain'. Anyway, still looking forward to 'Prometheus'. As for 'Blade Runner', people are gonna hate me for saying this, but it is a film that is way overrated.

Never Give Up (1978) - 2.5/5 Ken Takakura is the man. Yet, again. Not so much the film, though. It has some interesting aspects which you can't fail to notice. This is actually a good candidate for what could be a great remake. I liked how the superpowers of Yoriko, the young girl, came to mention,...
