Thanks. I'm guessing the deleted scenes are from the Extended Taiwanese cut.

Thanks. Sounds very much like the sort of thing HKL would release, way back when.. :(

Great specs... almost makes up for the dull-as-all-holy-hell cover... almost 8) Seriously, rather than the already dull "white-to-silver-to-white" gradient the background barely had before, the cover on the site looks like it's JUST white. Oh well, bitch bitch bitch, I know... at least this looks to be THE definitive DVD of the film. And yeah, I'm 99% sure the deleted scenes are the 5+ minutes of extra footage from the Taiwanese print

I'm tempted to put in a review request for it at DVDTimes, can compare it to my Taiwanese disc and boot of the French DVD. Just depends whether I can be arsed in Sept or not! :D

No, you could only use it as a base example of the colour tone/brightness/contrast etc. Obviously I'd never use it in a comparison review for the site!

Hello lads, long time no speak, hope all is well with you all, good to still see the old faces.

So is this DD disc gonna be uncut then? Not the butchered version? I'm tempted to pre-order it...
I might only drop in and out but I'm still your admin... spiritually :P

Visually speaking, this wasn't too butchered, was it? Other than the horrible "FIST OF LEGEND" logo over the flames. It was pretty much the audio track that was rendered unrecognizable. I just hope they use the Chinese title cards this time rather than English ones like Tai Chi Master had.

By the way, did anyone notice on the TCM DVD that anytime there was fast motion, there would be a weird split second blurring effect whenever there was a cut to another shot? I haven't noticed this in any reviews... I might've overlooked it though.

What I loved about the old US cut of FoL is that they modified the ending and changed Jet so his character would be a coward instead of a hero.

HK cut:
"-Where do we go now?
-Where are our people oppressed?
-In the North-East.
-North-East it is, then."

US cut:
"-Are you leaving with Mitsuko?
-Yes. If I no longer have a country, at least I'll be with the woman I love."

Way to go.

Who wants to wager that DD's will have Cantonese audio but subs based on the English version, thus retaining the sappy re-ending?

That trailer brings back memories of the glory days of Hong Kong Legends' "Platinum Editions"... albeit without showing the extra features :P
