Guilty of Romance (Sion Sono) (R18+)

It was previously reported that Sono had a bit of casting difficulties due to the sex scenes. I don't think the film has even started filming yet, but it's already slapped with an R-18 rating.

Official site (half empty):
http://www.koi-tumi.com/index.html

Here's a bit of twitter info in English:

Sono Shion's next has been announced: GUILTY OF ROMANCE starring Mizuno Miki, Togashi Makoto, & Kagurazaka Megumi.

Another inspired-by-real-crime story. Mizuno plays a police detective, Togashi a university assistant professor, Kagurazaka a housewife.

Unsurprisingly, all three female leads will have nude scenes. Sono joking described it as a Japanese SEX AND THE CITY

Mizuno (from the past decade's best Japanese action movie, Hard Revenge Milly: Bloody Battle) is an interesting selection.

You can read my review of Guilty of Romance on Diverse Japan

Although it's not as perfect as Cold Fish, Guilty of Romance is still a film that is awash with Sono's style.

Not seen it yet, and thanks for twisting the knife in the wound, as I just kicked it out of my next week's festival schedule (mostly because it's the Int. version). Shall patiently wait for the UK BD...

Thanks for the review, though.

Wish I had the chance to see the longer version - the female investigators storyline is extended somewhat, I believe. Thanks for your appreciation of the review :)

what the fuck? I have that on pre-order, too.

But it doesn't make sense. The full version was even classified by BBFC...
