Just watched the Season 1's finale: What a brilliant show and ending. Absolutely awesome.

There are some things that I find a bit hard to believe though, but I'll put them in spoilers...

First of all the shoe of Paul. Dex is really anal about everything, so I find it hard to believe he doesn't notice Paul is missing a shoe, first when he puts him in the car, but especially when he's at Paul's hotelroom where he lies him in bed. It's interesting for the story that his GF now found the shoe and maybe will doubt Dexter... but I'm not sure if I find it believable

Second of all, the cops found the original name of 'Rudy', which obviously is Dexter's brother (brilliant conclusion btw), but I'm pretty sure the truth will come up that 'Rudy' had a little brother, and that brother was Dex. I don't understand why Dex didn't just tell the cops he found out that Rudy was somehow after him, and in the end no-one would have to think Dex himself was a nutjob: Rudy could have been the crazy one and Dex the normal one, because of the adoption.
It would explain everything, instead of keeping everyone guessing. Now Debs is wondering why Rudy picked her, while there's a totally plausible reason (jealous nutjob brother of Dex).
There was no reason for Dex to keep it all a secret

Ow, I still think Doakes is a bit of douche btw. If he puffs his chest up any more, we should paint him white and call him Michellin.

I hope the 2nd and 3rd seasons are equally as good, although this is a tough act to follow. :)

EDIT

PS: Many people in reviews seem to describe the series, and especially Dexter, as 'disturbing'.
Am I weird for not actually finding him all that 'disturbing'!? TBH, I think he's pretty 'normal'. He kills bad people. What's wrong with that!?

What do people find so disturbing about all this? Is it Dexter himself, who's kinda without emotion? Is it the blood and the murders? Is it about people like Dexter that seem completely normal, but could be faking it!?

The Prisoner complete series BD 4/5

Seminal sixties series holds up well today and looks great on blu-ray.the show itself is surreal,to be honest in some episodes i didn't know what was going on ;) but it's so great looking and McGoohan is so charismatic in this you can't help but be drawn in.i think the show ran out of steam towards the end,as if McGoohan didn't know how to end it and the final episode is an example of this.

The Sweeney:Complete Series 2 3.5/5

excellent 70's show with some great episodes, particularly the two with the cheeky "aussie" villains played by George Layton & Patrick Mower. This is so politically incorrect it's untrue, drinking on the job, shagging witnesses, routinely beating up suspects, bribing snouts for information :notworthy:

Deadliest Warrior: 3.5/5

Silly, but a fun program :D I liked the analysis of the weapons and the bravado of the "experts" is funny.
I wanted Ninja to win against the Spartan :(

Is that directed at me?

If so, then Lauren would be my choice. All the girls are very talented though and have a future in the West End.

I have mixed feelings. Yes I'm enjoying it but it's clear it's almost run it's course. They've just about managed to sustain a third series but it's become a bit run of the mill. What once was clever (Gene being unpolitically correct) is now the norm. The problem isn't the idea but how it's not different from series 2. We know each week: there'll be a crime, Gene will think he's right (doesn't he learn?), it will turn out Alex is actually right and it ends.

I've not watched last Fridays yet but they've got a lot to fit in in only 2 more episodes!

Yanks take note and stop ruining series by milking it too far! Doctor Who on the other hand still "mostly" manages to feel fresh. This series is for the most part, fantastic.

The bigger mystery element is overall the most interesting part but the crimes can be good, great acting too.
