I see no improvement at all

Still shame it has some noise redutcion added to spoil the ultimate upgrade.

It does look like DNR to me as well.
There's no grain at all in the Blu-Ray transfer.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Well someone loves noise redution, as hell pretty much everyones getting into it now :( I just hope its a fad, as its getting on my nerves. Still I dont think I would avoid a transfer just becuase of it, becuase hell they wont re-do the transfer thats for sure, no matter how much we compain as frankly they dont give a crap what we think.

Compared with the DNR applied on Face/Off and Top Gun the DNR looks okay to me. It's not half as extreme.

I prefer the look of the BD.

I am sure evryone thinks the Blu Ray is better, far better, but the noise recutions still a pile of shit. Without it that transfer would be far sharper and far more detailed.

The DNR looks way worse in person. But it tops any DVD. This DNR shit has got to end now though, this would've easily been an excellent transfer but the goddamn noise reduction smudges all the detail away and in motion causes blurring.

It is better, technically speaking. Even the woeful DNR on the Face/Off and Top Gun still means the BDs are better.

The Twister DVD doesn't look better than BD, put it that way.

Actually, this is one of the rare cases where the DVD will look (or feel) better than the BD on a small screen (where the increase in detail is irrelevant).

Blu top.
DVD bottom.

The added grain makes the transfer look more film-like.
