Re: The off-topic topic
Ugh. I'm in the midst of some sort of allergic reaction to prescription painkillers. Felt like shit the past few days. Of course, I'm off them now, but have no idea how long it'll take for them to be completely out my system.

Bradavon popped up for a few days a little while back... but the other two, not for ages. Quite a few posters have disappeared without word. I think we may have a Bullets serial killer.EvaUnit02 wrote:Do Bradavon, Thelostdragon and Yi-Long still post on here?

Wow, this forum is dead. "Asian Film/DVD Discussion" is basically Hungfist's blog now.

That's why we need you back!
Hopefully Sam will return at some point, too (if his wife didn't kill him...)

The girl in the sig is not Ueto. I don't mind her getting married - found someone cuter in the real world

blimey there's some knobs over at Blu-ray.com...one guy keeps buying the fucked up Shout BL sets then takes offence because i take the piss out of him. He's allegedly outraged about the missing Mandarin Mono on FOF despite stating he only watches these films with the english dub and Grim quit with the cheerleading over there, your outrage would suggest you've actually bought the set-you haven't and i'm not sure why you (and others) expect retailers to do what Shout! won't

Re: The off-topic topic
I don't - its not their (retailers) problem, I thought Shout would identify such a problem and fix it before release.
I'm not outraged just a bit disappointed.

Bastards! Was it random do you think? Or targeted? About nine years ago same thing happened to us (bedroom window) and it was, I believe, some kids arsing about. Informed the Police, but heard no more about it. Even if they suspect someone, it's almost impossible to prove. Hope no one was hurt.

Yeah, you mentioned that, and it does seem an awful coincidence, doesn't it?

Re: The off-topic topic
This bit of old news...
...Swamp Thing cut for PG rating, then later accidentally released uncut with two topless scenes (with the same PG rating)... discovered when an enraged American mom complained that her son saw a pair of breasts...
... reminded me that what the hell is it that Americans find so frightening about breasts???? This just doesn't go into my Finnish skull. Why are breasts forbidden from children?
What about girls in real life? Are they forbidden to look in the mirror... they might see their own breasts

Re: The off-topic topic
The American mindset of violence=good, sex=bad... is something I will never understand.
On a sidenote... and I don't wanna become the BaronK of this forum, but I was just stunned about this story.
I am truly losing all faith in humanity these days.

Re: The off-topic topic
Okay, so this is basically the "make fun of America" forum. Awesome. Can I just get a few words in please before you take your generalizations any further?
I've never owned a gun and probably never will, but I also know plenty of people who have them and never use them. This whole idea that America is this old west where anyone could get shot and killed at any time because of gun happy Americans is moronic. Ironically, the most violent places are the ones with the strictest gun control laws.HungFist wrote:This reminds me why I never want to live in the US.

You know my uncle always said, "What's more realistic, a naked woman or someone getting shot in the head?" I agree with this of course. And in fact I would argue a lot of Americans don't care about nudity in cinema anymore, but the loudest ones are who make the headlines.HungFist wrote:This bit of old news...

No, not violence "good", just violence more palatable and acceptable than sex. But actually a lot of shows and movies have a distinct anti-violence message these days.RetroRobot wrote:The American mindset of violence=good, sex=bad... is something I will never understand.
