It's the time of the year when miss Finland... the bi-annual Night Visions film festival just kicked off and Ruggero Deodato is the main guest. Cannibal Holocaust and Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man are screening.

Probably his two best films. Are they showing any more of his? The Washing Machine would be a good one.

Just those two, but I'm pretty sure they have screened some other Deodato films before.

I saw Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man years ago and found it a bit underwhelming (I guess I'm in the minority here). The others I've seen are The Atlantis Interceptors, Cannibal Holocaust, Last Cannibal World, The Barbarians, and Cut and Run. I like them all (roughly in that order).

My neighbours are so loud I can't concentrate on studying kanji. The guy must've overdosed Viagra. They're at it for the 2nd time within 30 minutes already...

I don't like the new Paddy Power gambling TV ad, featuring outdated and bad stereotypes of Scotland - not funny and just lazy

Scots are as guilty as anyone of perpetrating shortbread tin myths; we seem to be under the impression that the world finds ginger drunks in kilts endearing.

Well, the EU vote has been cast and the UK will leave :? Felt the Leave campaign was biased and shortsighted, based too much on fear, claims about immigration (and false claims about what we put in versus what we get back) TBH, apparently the majority of older people (50-65 or so) voted Leave

Aside from the grotesque sight of a child dressed up as a child molester... why does a JAPANESE poster feature the Milky Bar kid??

That's Japan for you. Everything's gotta be cute. Even monsters.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been known as Schwarz-chan ("Schwarz-sweetie", basically) here. In Finland he's Raaka Arska (Brutal Arnold)

This actually happened just a few subway stops from my place... unfortunately I only learned about it later...
