Oi Oi OIIII!!!

What about NETIQUETTE, Grim!? Geez(!)

I ask a question to pervy Dice, and then you steamroll all over my question with one of your own, making Dice dizzy and forgetting all about my fantastic question! What's that all about!?

Is Crows any good!? What's it about!? Were any crows harmed during the making of that movie? Are those japanese emo-boys wearing crows on their heads, posing as a hairdo!?

Sorry, guess I really must've skipped your question.

Haven't watched it yet, but it's Miike, there you are. I've seen lots of weird movies by him, and even more irritating ones, but never a bad one. Considering, that this is based on a a Manga and is centered all on Fighting and Violent Turf-Wars on Highschool-Grounds, I guess it's going to be awesome. Well, actually I couldn't wait and watched the first 10 minutes already and what I've seen so far, REALLY WAS nothing short of awesome. It has the feel of a Toshiaki Toyoda flick (watched "Blue Spring" and "Pornostar" by any chance?), but the vibes of Miikes Nostalgia-Flicks ("Osaka Tough Guys", "The Way to Fight" etc.) are also present.

Every time Dice posts here I realize how many films I've forgot to put on my shopping list :D

I have Crows Zero, too, but I will wait and see if it hits a film festival near me. I do know they've got Yattaman with Leather Fukada. I doubt she can challenge Chiaki but the film looks like a winner.

Have you seen Install before? It was probably the first JP movie I ever watched without subs, back when the R2J was released. And damn that hand!!!!

Still haven't seen a single Toshiaki Toyoda film. I wanna see Blue Spring but I need to get the R2J cause it has better picture. And Hanging Garden too because Hana... I mean Anne, is in it.

Demon Spies is cool ninja film. Need to re-watch it some time.

If you don't like New Tokyo Decadence you're free to mail your dvd to me :D

I feel the same, when you've been posting your recent buys. 8)

Ah, "Yattaman". I so wanna watch that because of Leather Fu . . . I mean because of Miike. And because the Trailer looks funny and colourful. And because of Leather Fukada.

Yeah, that hand. I hope we're talking about the same hand here, right? Oppai-Hand, is it? Anyway, I never would've thought I'd pick this up. I noticed it back then, when I've just watched "Azumi" and Aya Ueto was kinda all the rage, but back then trailer did nothing to me (just like schoolgirls; for what came after, Tarantino and Chiaki are to blame). Now I had the chance to trade against Hideo Nakatas "Sleeping Bride". I immediately thought of you, when I've read that title and so I went for "Install" without giving it a second thought. It was kinda enjoyable, and not too long. Maybe a bit pretentious in the end, but better than almost anything else I've watched about similar thematic elements. Surprisingly tasteful execution for a movie with such delicate matter. Also good timing with the comedic bits.

If you watch just one movie by him, make it "Blue Spring". If you want to watch another one, pick up "Pornostar". About "9 Souls" and "Hanging Garden" I don't know yet, but I'll probably never gonna watch the latter one.

I watched the two "Shadow Hunter"-Films with my father, and he liked them, too. I even made him a Kozure Okami Fan. You told me, that "Demon Spies" is just more of the same stuff, so I absolutely had to get it.

The best thing Pink Eiga has done so far (in my opinion), was "Tsumugi".
Still need to watch "NTD", though.

I haven't really had much experience with Miike. Just saw some of his DOA stuff, but didn't really care for it didnt watch the whole movie), and I saw Deadly Outlaw Rekka, which I though was crap (hate the main actor), and I think I saw Zebraman, which was just OK for as far as I could tell. can't remember if I watched the whole thing.

I saw the trailer for Crows, and I'm not sure if I'd like it. I like the premise, but maybe not the excecution. Seems to have the quick cuts and flashy angles and stuff...

It's not a martial arts movie, so stuff like that shouldn't be your primary concern. And, yes, from what I've seen, it has quite a lot of quick cuts and flashy angles. But they're really well done. Very exciting stuff, if you're into it.

Cool, let us know when you've watched it :)

Like I said, if it's any good I'll probably pick it up when it's available for 5 bucks orso. :)

Secrets of the Furious Five (Region 1)

The disc freezes in my player - NOT HAPPY :x Sent an email to the seller at Amazon before buying a new one. I know it was just used - but I dont expect damaged cover art and a stupid sticky label round the ring in the middle of the DVD
Hopefully they will sort things out.

Git a refund from them :)

Recieved today:

Paddington: Complete Collection
The Wombles: Complete Collection - Limited Edition
(Sendit)

Sesame Street Old School: Volume 2
(Amazon UK Marketplace)

Again, NOT happy with this  The spindles appear broken/missing and I think the set is missing a booklet that should be there.
AAAARGGGH! :( It was supposed to be New as well - in every other respect it was fine.

I have to get "Tokyo!" as well. Is it also available on DVD, or just on Blu-Ray?

Anyway, I got myself this (192-minute TV-feature from 1985, which also covers "Through the Looking Glass", and is arguably the most faithful and charming adaption of Lewis Carrols's story ever):

Screw the new Tim Burton movie; I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw, that he actually lets an-almost-Twen take over the role of Alice. Kinda destroys the whole concept of the story, doesn't it?

There's an Optimum DVD available in the UK, I've gone for the US BD though.

Good call on the Broken Swords.

E-mail the seller on Friday (i.e. a week after sending it) and ask if they've received it.

Received GRID and Skate 2 this week (both 360).

So far, Skate 2 has been disappointing, like they rushed it , cause it's a bit buggy/glitchy, and while playing you just get the feeling it could have used a few more months to smooth things out ...

Haven't played GRID yet, but supposedly a great racing game...
