Those are experimental builds right? The last one on http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/ is from August.

I tend to have them all enabled, is this wrong?

They're the daily builds with all the latest functionality, very rarely one might have something broken but it's a media player so it doesn't hurt anything. Continuous improvements to BD playback, renderers, DXVA decoding and more as you can follow from the discussion topic here - http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=123537 .

Nothing wrong with having all the internal splitters/filter enabled.

Thanks, but I'm not sure how to use those new builds. I downloaded one and got rar file full of folders and files that I don't know what to do with.

I'm using the august version from the mpchc site.

Haali didn't solve the problem.

I tried to delete and install mpc again, but everytime I install it the new version has the same settings as the old one. For example the external filters are always the same as what I set for the old version. How can I delete all its memory and get a clean start? MPCHC worked fine for BDs when I first downloaded it months ago, so if I could somehow get the same settings maybe it would work again.

I took some screecaps of the program settings:

Extract the exe.

To delete the settings use regedit

Thanks Lourdes.

FYI Hung, deleting or even uninstalling MPC won't remove it's settings, as Lourdes points out they're in the registry. As well as Lourdes suggestion, it may have a Reset button though.

I tend to use the ZIP MPC so I can extract it to a folder of my choice. The installer version IMO is OTT.

Thanks, but didn't solve the problem. I deleted the registry, and downloaded the new mpc. The settings seem to be different now, but the problem remains.

The BD I've been using is Resurrection of the Golden Wolf (JP) (this one worked a few months ago). Inglorious Basterds (FI) has the exact same problems. Yatterman (JP), however, only has slight audio distortion problems that will pass if you pause for a moment. Miami Vice (US) and Tokyo Sonata (UK) play flawlessly.

Maybe I can live with it if I can find a way to time subs for BD without using MPC. It would mean that certain discs I can only view from the beginning (I can't start the movie from any other point than beginning, or the jamming will hit). I have powerdvd9 that I can use to rewatch specific scenes, although with no custom subs then. Sucks, but better than nothing.

Hopeless. This thing keeps breaking one piece at a time, and I have no idea why. Now I can't even play dvds anymore.

Horizontal line appears... well, not exactly line, it's a bit like a lightning that strikes the image in two and goes from top to bottow like a wave... happens when there is camera movement. I cannot give screencap as it doesn't show in screencaps for some reason.

Tested with VMR-9 & 7, EVR Custom Pres., EVR Sync.

Choosing System Default fixes the problem, but then there's no custom subs, aka useless for me.

Fixed. Took like fucking 9 months. I had three problems.

1) MPCHC wasn't working. Solution: I installed PowerDVD10 Mark II recently and now it started playing BD's again. I did try the same trick before with PowerDVD9 but with no results.

2a) The horizontal lines I was talking about were tearing. ATI's vertical sync can fix this.

2b) Even with tearing on my laptop fixed, it would still appear on my second display (TV screen). Solution: I didn't get rid of the problem, but I managed to push it out of the frame. I set my TV as extended desktop (rather than mirror image of the computer desktop). This way ATI allows me to apply setting separately to both displays. Strangely, when I turn the vertical sync on for the second display, the tearing will then appear on my computer screen. So, as long as I have two displays connected at the same time, there will always be tearing on one of them. But at least I can control on which one it is.

It's inconvenient, but at least I can now play BD's with custom subs again. I'll try stick to subbed BD's whenever I can, and only go through the trouble with "no sub region" exclusives.
