Nice try Third Window, but if you're gonna release it with such terrible cover art and lacking extras (although they have some exclusive stuff), I think I'll go for the Japanese Blu-Ray instead.
Could try it on my multiregion one but I'm sure it's the disc. Also, which BD of I Saw the Devil did you end up going for? I gather the UK one is the Korean cut, and the US one is the international cut, and apparently the latter is the director's preferred version so I think I'll probably go for that one when it comes down in price.
... and I'm not sure it makes that much difference which version you watch. It seems like the Korean version is almost as violent, with only a couple of shots removed and some scenes slightly shortened. I think the film would still have the exact same impact. Some other changes, such as added and badly placed sex scene in the Korean Cut might make a slightly bigger difference.
I just wish directors would decide upon which is their preferred cut BEFORE releasing the damn movie! Instead of the mess we often find ourselfs in now, where you've got a shitload of different cuts, with neither being 'complete'....
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...
I Saw the Devil: International Cut and Korean Cut
The Good, The Bad, The Weird: International Cut and Korean Cut
A Bittersweet Life: Theatrical Cut and Director's Cut
Now that I came to think about it, I came across something maybe a bit similar some years ago. I was watching Tokyo Shock's Zebraman DVD and on my TV there was brightness flickering, about once a second. I tried it on a different TV (with the same dvd-player) and it was fine. But on my (old) TV I could not get rid of the problem...
I forgot my multi-region BD player is set to region A, so I shan't bother messing around with codes to check Cold Fish on it, I can't see it playing any differently tbh.
