Nice try Third Window, but if you're gonna release it with such terrible cover art and lacking extras (although they have some exclusive stuff), I think I'll go for the Japanese Blu-Ray instead.

Hung, have you watched the UK Blu-ray of Cold Fish? I haven't seen anyone else mention the same issues I have with the transfer.

No, I don't have it, I'm out of money.
Do you have another player / TV to test it on?

Could try it on my multiregion one but I'm sure it's the disc. Also, which BD of I Saw the Devil did you end up going for? I gather the UK one is the Korean cut, and the US one is the international cut, and apparently the latter is the director's preferred version so I think I'll probably go for that one when it comes down in price.

I went for the US BD. But there's a new Korean BD coming soon, with both version.

After watching the film I checked this detailed (and spoiler heavy) comparison...
http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=847718
... and I'm not sure it makes that much difference which version you watch. It seems like the Korean version is almost as violent, with only a couple of shots removed and some scenes slightly shortened. I think the film would still have the exact same impact. Some other changes, such as added and badly placed sex scene in the Korean Cut might make a slightly bigger difference.

Yeah apparently he removed that from the international version because he realised it didn't flow well.

I just wish directors would decide upon which is their preferred cut BEFORE releasing the damn movie! Instead of the mess we often find ourselfs in now, where you've got a shitload of different cuts, with neither being 'complete'....
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

Sometimes they're under a lot of pressure to get a film edited in time for festival submission though.

ok, so Kim Jee-won's last three films are...
I Saw the Devil: International Cut and Korean Cut
The Good, The Bad, The Weird: International Cut and Korean Cut
A Bittersweet Life: Theatrical Cut and Director's Cut
... or should I say Kim Jee-won's last six films?
Seriously, this guy...

gas, did you manage to solve the disc issue?
Now that I came to think about it, I came across something maybe a bit similar some years ago. I was watching Tokyo Shock's Zebraman DVD and on my TV there was brightness flickering, about once a second. I tried it on a different TV (with the same dvd-player) and it was fine. But on my (old) TV I could not get rid of the problem...

I forgot my multi-region BD player is set to region A, so I shan't bother messing around with codes to check Cold Fish on it, I can't see it playing any differently tbh.
