Hand of Death (Cine Asia/HKL release)

Post by grim_tales »

I have the Fox R1, is the only difference between that one and Cine Asia the commentary?
Is it in the right language? I'm sure the Fox was in Mandarin.

Mandarin film.

Fox has mono track, a bit out of sync

HKL has no mono track.

I didnt think it was that bad, one of the better early JC's I've seen (pre SITES/DM) :D Fearless Hyena is a good movie also.

I always enjoyed it, mostly due to nostalgia. The fighting is awfully slow, but you gotta love that theme tune!

To be honest, I feel Sammo did better with Hapkido and his films with Huang Feng.

Hapkido was cool actually (even though the plot seemed like Fist of Fury but with Angela Mao), hope Cine-Asia release this one.

Hapkido is brilliant. And its kick ass title theme by Emerson Lake and Palmer is so catchy!

The HKL suffers from pinkyfiying and the mono track going out of sync during a fight scene.

Not sure I'd agree with that.
