So, Mark... I recieved my copy of Death Duel. There is 2.0 Mandarin mono.... whether it's original :dontknow: How do I tell? And regarding picture quality, it's better than the IVL as far as I can see. But that's all I can say really.

Re. Audio. Do any of the Foley effects sound out of place, like they've been dubbed over the originals? Does the Shaw logo/credits theme music sound like it's been played on a casino keyboard?

Re. Video. Is there any ghosting? Shimmering horizontal lines when you press pause during movement?

What's the running time? A PAL-to-NTSC conversion will run 4% too short.

Haven't watched it all the way through, just checked it quickly for you. But I'll probably watch it this week, so I'll pay attention to those things and get back to you.

Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project (Touki Bouki / Redes / A River Called Titas / Dry Summer / Trances / The Housemaid) (Criterion Collection) (Blu-ray + DVD): I started watching The Housemaid, only have a little bit left to go.
Randolph Scott Westerns Collection: Coroner Creek / The Walking Hills / The Doolins of Oklahoma / 7th Cavalry: I was overexcited to get this. This can be rather expensive.
Chinese Ghost Story Trilogy R3
Journey to the West: Already seen this and all the extras from the R1 edition.
Samurai Chicks (Japan)
Kung Fu Dunk
Chinese Zodiac
Red Sonja
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit
Monsieur Ibrahim
Pauline & Paulette
Coming Home

It appears so (though this price seems quite large for the BD): Amazon US BD link. All Region Tai Seng DVD link Yesasia has a couple of different releases as well, though they appear mostly All region.

Some recent purchases:

Johnny Guitar: I'm still thinking whether I like this or not. Some of the acting is so incredibly over the top.
Mercury Man: I still wonder why I pick up Thai films all the time.
Brotherhood of the Wolf
The Original Nancy Drew Movie Mystery Collection (Detective / Reporter / Troubleshooter / Hidden Staircase)
21 Jump Street: I saw this in the theater. I do want to see the sequel. Funny film.

I was one of the few who didn't care for 21 Jump Street, so it's unlikely I'll feel better toward the sequel. Mind you, I detest most modern Hollywood comedy.

I generally do to. But for some reason I enjoyed watching that movie in the theater. I went mainly because there was nothing else. Most of the R rated 2013 comedies I did not like, several like We're The Miller and Identity Thief I wished I did not spend the time on.

Ordered some spare BD cases from a US site called Casetopia, that seems to be popular on Blu Ray.com. However, I thought I had a small problem so emailed them.
I just realised I'd entered the wrong card details by mistake (I chose a wrong 'type' of card, when choosing those options that say Visa or American Express or whatever) but they still sent the order :?
Now what? :? :help: :dontknow:

I returned my copy of Death Duel to Amazon. No excuse for letterboxing in this day and age.

I never tried Legend of the Bat. Is that one letterboxed, too? Also, is the Mandarin track mono or 5.1 bullshit or 2.0 downmix-bullshit?

I'll write the info here when I get it (I ordered off of Amazon). I'm a little late in ordering it, but it completes my R1 collection again.
