I've just been collecting that four series. Yeah that's not a great foursome. I don't hate The Wedding Singer, just realized that is the remake of The In-Laws which is nowhere near as good as the original. Funny enough The Bachelor is inspired by a Buster Keaton film Seven Chances and is also not as good as the Buster Keaton film.Markgway wrote:Masterofoneinchpunch wrote:

Isn't Seven Chances the movie where Keaton has to get married by a certain time to inherit a load of cash?Masterofoneinchpunch wrote:I've just been collecting that four series. Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Yes a plotline used several times in silent film (check out Harold Lloyd's short Haunted Spooks with a slightly different storyline.) I think the film is hilarious and has one of the greatest chases in cinema at the end (some critics state that saves the movie, though I do like all of it.) I've seen the film a few times. I have it on Kino R1, the first release.grim_tales wrote: ...

Here are latest purchases:
All Olive releases. I have seen the Flame of the Barbary Coast (same plotline as San Francisco with Clark Gable):

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Ha! I'll put those up higher on my queue. I'm checking right now. Unfortunately I do not have Ninja Terminator or Legend of a Fighter, but I might have Shaolin vs. Lama. I'll check later today (making note of it right now.)Mo wrote:I haven't heard of Triple Agent but i hope you didn't pay money for the rest of those movies. When are you going to see Shaolin vs Lama and Legend of a Fighter? You haven't even seen the #1 ranked movie of all time, Ninja Terminator!! Throw those other movies in the trash can and go get Ninja Terminator!
I was getting the feeling you were not into Hou Hsien-hsiao (I still need to see a film from him, I have seen a decent amount of Tsai Ming-liang films though -- dealing with Taiwan art-house directors.)

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
So you have actually seen Anna in Kung Fu Land and Legend of the Dragon?Mo wrote:I haven't seen M Mambo but I looked it up and yes I can guarantee I hate it. Shaolin vs Lama comes in at least a couple different packs. Legend of a Fighter comes in the MA Essentials volume 7 and the HKL DVD is easy to aquire. Ninja Terminator is a really hard movie to get because it's so good. It might cost you 3 or 4 dollars. Maybe even 5.

Re: What Have You Just Ordered or Received?
Thanks. Ha! I'll probably hate it too, but I still like to see most of everything Sammo is in. Of course when I get to it is another question I cannot answer. Thanks for referring to Shinobi as well .Mo wrote:Yes and Legend of the Dragon definitely belongs in the trash. I don't remember much about Anna and Shinobi but I hated them.
Did you look at the price for Martial Arts Essentials, Vol. 7? It is expensive. Want a mini-review of Shaolin vs Lama when I get to it?
Have you seen Born to Defense?

Michiyo Yasuda x 3
Lady Sazen and the Drenched Swallow Sword (1969)
Banboo Leaf Omon (1969)
Kanto Woman Yakuza (1968)
Plus
Arrow's limited edition strategy did its trick. I actually had dream that I was trying to pick this up, but it was OOP everywhere. I figured something's telling me to get it.
