I don't think I can even PM people on there. I can see profiles but that's it

I was never a member.
I was going to join back in the day, but I believe you had to jump thru hoops, so never bothered.

Re: Anyone active on the hkmdb?
What was your name on there? What is annoying is that the contact information does not seem to be there (or is of no use), even after logging in. The only thing I now after logging in is usually to post or edit a review of mine.

For some reason even if you login you cannot PM anyone. I'll have to check to see if I have bkasten's email. I believe Brian T has it.

Re: Anyone active on the hkmdb?
New computer, new browser.
Now every time I click on a new HKMDB page I get an annoying pop up at the bottom right of my screen.
It belongs to Chikita(?)
Anyone else had this issue?
Google search tells me it's virus/malware, but I checked my programs for any new installs and there was nothing. Also did a Malware Bytes scan and that too came up clean. What gives?

I get that too. I did not change computer nor browser, but itis the annoying aspect I have complained about this in the past on another site about HMKDB. It was gone for awhile (maybe a year or more) and then back.Markgway wrote:New computer, new browser.

It is not necessarily a virus nor malware because you can get paid for using it (like a Google AdSense alternative). You get a little idea here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitika (though you may notice that the article is a bit biased and is flagged because of it.) I think HKMDB uses it whenever money is a bit low (though I believe in the past they stated they were never going to take that route).
Now I absolutely hate that type of program. It gets in the way there, pushes columns around etc...

Any way to get rid of it?
I mean, if it's not on my system, but is on the website?
It's a major pain in the arse.
They're not even proper fucking adverts!

I believe it is on the website (could always be wrong on this, but it seems more than coincidental that both of us have seen it appear rather recently). No idea on how to get rid of it. I hate it.

Just checked Chrome and the pop-ups are still there.
It's not a browser issue.
