What? Is that a Simpsons reference? (I remember Bart mentioned it when he was reading that play he wrote while he had gone mad from isolation, after breaking his leg. It was the episode where they parody Rear Window)

A reference it may be, but an unwitting one. 15th July actually is St. Swithin's Day. As simple as that, really :)

My first-born was due on Bastille Day, but decided to arrive a full month earlier than expected. :o So anyway, if she'd been born closer to her due date, she might possibly have shared a birthday with you two!

Okay, that's a stretch, I admit. I'm just running out of things to say. :P

That is definitely reaching :)

"It is better to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" springs to mind... :D

And that is something that has been used on The Simpsons :)

Nah, my birthday is on the 16th, which is your 15th.

Anyway, I received a total $220 and my mate is dropping a gift in my letterbox tomorrow.

Last night was quite funny - we went to a posh cinema called "The Rex" and entered a raffle/lottery type thing to get tickets for "Notes on a Scandal" - but we wound up seeing the wrong film - a French film called "Orchestra Seats" When we saw that on the ticket we thought it was a place to sit
Thankfully, Orchestra Seats is a good film, good performances and quirky characters. Cecile de France - (who played Monique in the Jackie Chan version of Around the World in 80 Days) takes the lead as a friendly, cute small town waitress who falls in love with a musician (something like that anyway). The location for the film is the theatre district of Paris and we get to meet some of the characters that cross paths at a cafe. The film is mainly seen through the eyes of a young woman who has come to Paris full of tales of the luxury life from her grandmother.

Cecile de France plays the character of the young woman, Jessica, at the centre of the film and she lights it up. In her time at the cafe she comes across a frustrated Concert Pianist who wants to give up the grind of the International Circuit, a Millionare Businessman selling off all his possesions with a gold digger and suspicious/jealous son in close proximity and a popular soap star who wants to impress a visiting American director.

:)

Then we went to t' pub (and played Scrabble for some reason).
