I saw it on the news (CNN)(!)... but I'm not really into 'apple' and that whole hype, and didnt think this was all that special. I'm sure the apple fanboys will all flock to the 'apple-stores' and buy this for the cheap cheap price of just 500-600 bucks (dollars) orso...

Anyway, it's not for me...

Me neither in the slightest but I do think it looks impressive. As products Ipods are solid but overall don't interest me.

Put it this way the iPhone looks to be in another league to other phones which can play MP3s, which are all very badly implemented.

That looks pretty damned nice. I'll probably go for one of those once my Nokia 3510 finally conks out, or when the battery dies at least (which is likely to happen first considering the stuff my phone has survived).

LOL, this was on the news today. They talked of innovation and when they listed it abilities, I found that my old Samsung mobile could do the exact same things actually, lol.

Ipods suck, the fucking things are married to DRM.

No the fucking things are not.

iTunesMusicStore is married to DRM, the iPods will play any open MP3 or AAC file you throw at it (it supports more formats I think...)

Anyways. This iPhone looks GREAT. The multitouch interactive screen is finally available in something useful. No more diddling with tiny buttons that "hang" - much like mouse gestures on decent browsers - your fingers now do all the talking.

And no, I'm not an Apple fanboy. I loathe any form of DRM or user content restriction, but I happen to like the iTunes application (even with all it's annoyances)...

Shame Cisco own the name iPhone and Apple are being sued.

I bet it will be settled out of court. Besides as Apple correctly say loads of VOIP companies are already using the iPhone name. They're not the first.

That's the same for other mp3 players too if you opt to use it.

I wouldn't buy one personally but to give them credit the players are very good (it's the software tie-in that really puts me off).

My MP3 Player can play MP3s but many say Ipods do it better. A feature list means squat. It's how it's implemented that matter!
