The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
Hey
Times are hard and I just got a BD player based on all the bargain discs I've seen at £6.99 or less online.
I'm gonna try and pick up every film I want when it drops to this price point...and that will happen!
Thoughts?

Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
Yup if I was into my buy and sell mode like I was years ago I would buy all of the stock and Ebay them all :FD and make cash, ahhh those were the days
Anyone could sell it for more than £4.21p and it will be an easy trade as well if you hate it.
Mind you that same seller has Meet the Spartans on blu Ray for the same price, not sure about buying that haha

I think Street Kings was seriously underrated when it came out, it's a little heavy handed and obviously not in the same league as L.A Confidential but it does feel like a James Ellroy film. I prefered it to the Black Dahlia.
I've ordered a copy anyway, so thanks for the link romero!

Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
Street Kings reminded me fondly of parts of Training Day and Harsh Times with a little of Dark Blue all 4 of them meld into one another, good job I like all 4.
I still have not got round to watching Black Dahlia, one day this year I will I am sure
and if anyone wants some music with their Blu Rays
Shakira Oral Fixation Tour £4.99 a little cheaper with Quidco

Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
Bloody good find on that Shakira BD, thanks. I was only looking into getting this the other day but it was over £12. That's a much better price! A lot of it is Shakira's Spanish work btw. I've wanted some music in HD for ages but this is the only one out there I like. I'd love some Shania Twain in HD. Her DVDs are great but only SD.

Surely 24p is better? The only main bad things are the frame rate is much too low for a concert - only 24fps whereas nearly all other concerts are 50 or 60i. Some of the shots don't look very detailed, but many do.

I thought that. I'm sure concerts should too be 24p. In fact this was even shot in HD.

The Matrix was seriously overrated and Keanu's performance had termites.bradavon wrote:The Matrix and Speed also star Keanu Reaves.
Speed was actually rather good and even Keanu wasn't terrible. But would the film have even better with a good actor as the lead?

Probably but he did a perfectly fine job of it too. The Matrix is excellent, it's the sequels that are overrated. Anyway, you got my point.

Re: The Blu-Ray movies under £7 thread
The sequels aren't overrated - IMO. As you say Brad The Matrix is great, but most people acknowledge the sequels are pish compared to the original movie. And I quite liked Reloaded, it's just not as good as the first. Revolutions was awful.
I'd like just the first movie on BD.

lol i don't recall hearing one positive review of part 3 and 2 was greeted with an extremely lukewarm response.don't know why you think they were overrated.bradavon wrote:. The Matrix is excellent, it's the sequels that are overrated.
