Imagine I'd head to Tokyo first as that's my base but I want to go south.
That sounds cool. Any more specific plan on the "going south"?

Nah, nothing specific - I rarely ever plan. After 6 months in Queensland I would just like heat and sea, preferably with decent diving. WIll depend on what work I can find but I could probably find somewhere to do scuba or MMA instruction cash-in-hand; and black market English teaching/tuition work is always easy. I'm tempted to just go back to Australia though, still got a work visa there and pay is amazing. School again in October so some savings would be nice.

If and when I eventually get to Japan I'm going to practice some BJJ and MMA as well. I don’t know how the Japanese are willing to let foreigners teach in their gyms. At least here in Finland most of our visiting teachers come from Brazil. I wish you luck with finding a place to teach.

Did you count them one by one? That sounds like the place to be.

Life is good! Sapporo Festival (or something) + old school raamen restaurant with awesome showa feel. The whole night was like a mid 60's Ken Takakura film!

Just saw a middle aged man in suit walking the street with three high school girls. I bet he wasn't their father :icon_suspect:

It must be a great life in Japan, as a pretty schoolgirl or wealthy businessman... :D

Atsuko Maeda's drunken adventures have gained a life of its own on the internet. Following the paparazzi photos of her being carried by Takeru Sato (who clearly does not know how to carry a girl  ) tons of photoshopped versions have been uploaded by "fans"

I find it terribly amusing that while the Japanese police is arresting people who distribute software that allows breaking copy protection, the nation's biggest video rental store Tsutaya is selling DVD-R and CD-R discs at their counter Image
