Hey there, Just want to let you know, over at CDJapan, they reissued Manhunter again, 7 pounds including p&p using Airmail.

The Japanese DVD also has DTS!.
On R1 MGM have recently re-released Manhunter also, this time in 2.35:1 anamorphic with DD5.1, it too is also the Theatrical Cut. This is the same DVD that was in the recent Lector box set.
The 2 Disc UK SE is also £2.47 at CD WOW (USA Link + $2 Voucher)!
This makes for an interesting accompaniment as it features:
* Workprint on Disc 1 (titled the Theatrical Cut)
* The Director's Cut on Disc 2
* A Director's Commentary for the Director's Cut
* Some other small featurettes

Your timing is oddly bizarre. I re-watched this film only the other day then ordered this yesterday. I went for the Japanese DVD as I don't reckon the recent R1 is a new transfer.
The cut I watched was recorded off ITV2 and could've been the Workprint as the scene where Will is sympathising with the killer wasn't there. I definitely remember it the last time I saw it on Bravo Sat elite channel.
I don't think I've ever seen this in 2.35:1 so that will be a treat.

I haven't seen the TC version, so it was cheap as chips, so ordered it. Did you also get it from cdjapan or another store. I have the limited anchor 2 disk r1 version which has a great packaging the workprint, and dc, but want to check this out.

CD Japan but I went for Economy Air as I'm a cheapskate
. I hear that's not the same as Surface Mail.
The Theatrical Cut is definitely the superior cut as literally everyone says, except obviously the director who bizarrely decided to cut that crucial footage out. I'd have not bothered with the Theatrical Cut if this footage was in the Director's Cut.
