Ah, didn't know the song the Same Difference group sang was actually a love song, I guess it is a bit wierd then

Yep it's sang by the two protagonists if I remember correctly right at the end of the film. This of course after they've fallen madly in love with each other, the usual Disney/Hollywood story.
I guess it works in the sense they're brother and sister but it's still a bit weird.

I heard next week is ABBA week but I'm not sure.
It's not just the performers who are poor this year, the theme weeks suck IMO.

My god I hope you're wrong. There's no way I'll be watching it if Abba dross is on.

you mean the rest of the show isnt dross? by the logic of it being crap, you shouldnt watch any of it...

OMG Emily seemed
really sweet and innocent. You never can tell nowadays:
Over the past few days allegations have been made that footage exists of Emily Nakanda attacking a teenage girl on a mobile phone video.
It is alleged that the 15-year-old, who is one of two remaining hopefuls in Sharon's 14-24 category is seen putting a blonde girl in a headlock, swinging her by the hair, hitting her several times and then pushing her to the ground.
Consequently, Emily has now LEFT the show!
Read the statement here:

Also:
After getting the boot on Saturday night, Daniel believes that it's possibly down to the song.
He claims that "originally, I was singing my song from the judges house stage and then I was told it needed to be up-tempo... So then we went with Prince, When Doves Cry and at the last minute (on Saturday) Louis told me 'they' said I had to sing Build Me Up Buttercup".

That's shocking

She looked so sweet with the hat with the button. I bet she was made to leave though.

Interestingly Daniel had more votes from the public than Elisha:
"At the end of the day it would have been nice if it had gone to a deadlock. The powers that be have let me know that if it had been a deadlock, I would still have been on the show."

I can seriously see Elisha being out tomorrow. I think she's pretty good (okay she's hot

) but the public don't seem to think so.
That would be funny though, in a matter of weeks Sharon's side is all gone

"In another video clip earlier this week, Emily threatened to cut out a boy's eyes with a knife, the paper reported."

Do you think Emily should be replaced?

by bradavon
Hell no, not now. This isn't Big Brother

, that would be way to unfair for the others. It's the third week of the live shows.

by grim_tales
True.
But now Sharon's only got one act! Soon she will have none!

Posted: 03 Nov 2007, 14:41
by bradavon
That would be hilarious, she's be well pissed off

. Obviously someone will have no acts sooner or later but 3 weeks in Sharon is down to 1 act

. I can definitely see Elisha going out this week.

To make The X Factor more interesting...
The Judge who loses all their acts first is executed by public hanging live on Saturday night...
Anyone with me??

Unless it's Danni count me in
This years show is a bit of a joke, just like this years Big Brother was (not that I watched that). I hear that limped to the final. They can only milk these shows for so long.
Isn't X-Factor only in it's third year though.

No its 4th (I think).
2004 - Steve Brookstein
2005 - Shayne Ward
2006 - Leona Lewis
2007 - ?
This year only Niki and Rydian have any X Factor IMO.

by bradavon
True.
Oh yeah Steve was a right tool. A nice enough singer but no stage presence and that's crucial to do well.
Posted: 03 Nov 2007, 17:25
by grim_tales
True, Steve looked like a roofer

G4 were robbed that year IMO.

by bradavon
True. Unsurprisingly it's the people with (possible) star power who end up succeeding. Nikki is good but she's not a star.
Posted: 03 Nov 2007, 18:37
by grim_tales
Leona is probably the closest thing to a star from X Factor and even she seems like a hybrid of Carey/Houston/Aguilera etc (IMO) - but she is good. She can sing!

I don't get why people keep saying that. How many acts are really unique? Not many. Carey sounds like Houston, Girls Alloud are similar to The Spice Girls.
It doesn't matter, especially in Pop and as you say she is the only one to have real star power. She's not my thing though.

Acts tonight:
Futureproof: As a group they were OK but I didnt like the two guys on the end.
Niki: Very good overall IMO, not sure about the high notes at the end. Simon was mean calling it "cabaret" and said it was bad - it's a cabaret song you dolt!
Rhydian: What a performance from this guy, mad but near outstanding IMO (certainly very good). If it worked for Shirley Bassey...
Same Difference: A happy up tempo number but calling it big band is stretching it surely? It's more early mowton. Vocally it was shit. The judges are clearly listening to something else.
Hope: Not sure I heard the song before - sounded like a Christina Aguilera/PCD update of 40's music like Andrews Sisters. Good performance. Fun.
Alisha: Now come on, since when is Valerie by The Zutons big band?? I know it was based on Amy Winehouse's version but still.
Andy: Meh. Didn't recognise the song.
Beverley: Very good. Should be a contender after tonight.
Rhydian to win!

Leona's version of The First Time (Ever I Saw Your Face) on the Saturday Night Divas programme was superb.

Andy was awful, absolutely dreadful. I listen to half of it and had to fast forward. I also fast forwarded through "Same Difference" as I cannot stand them.
Alisha was decent, her best yet. She seemed her most comfortable too. I think you'll find Pink's "Get the party started" isn't a big band song either

. They don't have to be "Big Band" songs silly
IMO Hope were the best tonight. Simon seemed to be enjoying himself
