Crime 101 (2026) 3/5
It's too derivative to pull up any trees, but still a decent crime flick. Chris Hemsworth gives a solid performance and he's in his right element here (somewhat similar to Blackhat). The action scenes are straight to the point and fortunately there's a distinct lack of CGI. The story is okay, but there's nothing in it that I haven't seen before. I've seen some people call it a Heat knockoff though I see it more as a composite of several crime classics.
Marty Supreme (2025) 4/5
Definitely lives up to the hype. It's an enjoyable experience and it does everything a good move should do; it's suspenseful and pulls the viewer right in, tells a meaningful story without any preaching or political bullshit, and above all, it looks like an actual movie thanks to expert use of 35mm. Admittedly my first time seeing Chalamet in anything, but he's impressive and really shines here. Abel Ferrara has a cameo and he's hilarious, didn't see that coming. While I think Uncut Gems is a better movie I hope Marty Supreme can raise the bar for the Hollywood blockbuster.
