dvdpacific are deffo not customs friendly these days,i think everyone gets caught with them.however i believe they've introduced a swedish premium option which takes longer but i've heard people are still getting caught even with this option.even at £35-37 quid if it got caught (almost certain) the set would likely cost me nearer £60

True. I only meant if it was much less it "may" be worth a go. As the Die Hard box set will be physically big it is even more likely to be stopped.

WOW what a crap selection. I'd go for Jarhead and Pitch Black but neither I want remotely enough to pay HD prices. I've yet to see my Jarhead DVD too.

Come on MovieTyme give us Black Hawk Down again cheap. That is a very good price for a Combo, pity again the film looks like crud. I wish Universal would either re-release Miami Vice as a normal HD-DVD (the only way to get the DC is on the USA Combo) or lower the price of it :shock:

Yup Movietyme must have overstock for them prices coupled with vouchers they are damn cheap.

Shame I own both saying that Movietyme still have not got me Dawn yet, 3 months after release! first big problem I have had with them, 3 emails later they still aint solved it, keep saying they sent another, the likleyhood of that is very low, 3 copies lost in post, not a chance.

Still ussually they are quick and fine to use.

It's annoying that their vouchers always expire after a month. Rarely do I manage to use them as their bargains plus valid voucher rarely seem to coincide . I've ever been given the odd voucher too.

so can i. i'm going to get Dracula as my 3rd choice then trade it on another forum for something i want. 3 uk blu-rays for £30 then becomes a good deal. Close Encounters for a tenner is very impressive particulaly as the equivalent usa release can't be got for under £20

That is was what I was thinking for a second but to me £10 is a fairly good price. They need to be under £9 to be great. At least until I get an HD Player anyway.

I picked it up earlier for the same price from a UK seller at Amazon Marketplace. Sweet, finally the Combo version at a decent price

I can't work out how you can get an item from Amazon Marketplace USA for one postage price then buy from the exact same seller at Amazon Marketplace UK and the postage shoots down in price to about £1.

Surely they must be sending it at a loss?

I'm having trouble finding out what "Used - Very Good" means from the seller in question though. I notice they've not used "Used - Like New" which is another tag name they could've used.

I am wary the disc or packaging maybe scuffed.

Used - Very Good on amazon can mean nothing at all. I have got things brand new, and they were used second hand shit. So really I dont beleve a word they say, much like Ebay its down to trust, and if you one of the kind pf people willing to send them back if you aint happy.

People who lie need smacking mind you I even mention a finger mark etc.. to many others just have bad standards.

That's why I'm worried. One person's "Very Good" is probably not mine.

In the case of Miami Vice I got it from another UK Market Place seller for a similar price and they confirmed it was all in "As new" condition.

I'm looking at another HD-DVD from that USA seller though and want to know what they mean by "Very Good". If it said "Like new" then at least I'd have something to work by.

I've just ordered a copy.

They must have more than one as it's still listed at that price. I've not been able to find out what "Used - Very Good" means other than it will definitely have the cover, case and disc. Hopefully as it's an HD Disc the original owner would've kept it in better condition, it makes sense as HD hasn't yet met the masses.

For that price it's worth a shot. If it turns out to be a mess I'll send it back or sell it on eBay.

p.s - For those of you who're BD locked there is also an almost identical BD version. I say almost as the DD Plus on the HD-DVD is Full-rate (1.5Mbps) but only half-rate (640Kbps) on the BD. They're otherwise identical.
