Was just wondering... if one were to buy CLOSE ENCOUNTERS from that sale would one get ass-fucked from Customs because Amazon stick on a $49.95 value (plus postage) instead of the $23.99 you would pay...? Damn, you have to be soooo careful with this shit.

that's correct Mark. As for your 2nd question everything i've ever bought from Amazon has always had the price i've paid on the label. the BOGOF debacle i think was their way of not losing out if the package went awol,they could claim the full value of the lost package against the shipping company.

How long is a piece of string? Many items get through fine as they don't check everything.

The point is you have a case to claim it back or e-mail Amazon and they may refund you. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd be careful about £17.99 though as that's so bloody close, personally I wouldn't risk it.

not as good? you are joking.there are over 200 blu-ray titles to choose from,what's not there that was in the BOGOF ?just the Warner titles. if you can't find titles you want out of over 200 on offer i'd stick with SD lol.

Because these customs charges are based on currency conversion so it's next to impossible to say for sure what the GBP will be. If it's £17.99 over at XE.COM/UCC you just know it will be more when Royal Mail have finished with it.

Thanks Salty, yeah that's quite surprising! I don't know whether to cancel my Ratatouille order and go for that, because you get pretty much all the Pixar shorts when you have all their films anyway, and I think the Ratatouille case will look kinda cheap with that tacked onto the front! Probably sounds stupid!

Cool price for those who prefer the TC. It's also Region Free.

It's probably the best TC we're going to get any time soon. I hear the PQ is decent, if nothing special. It only has DD5.1 though (the DTS is broken).

someone on dvdforums got this email from amazon.looks like possible good news for any future BOGOF deals

Someone needs to point out that they're breaking the law by listing items at a price greater than the one paid. They seem to be under the impression that the problem is with listing the postage. It's not. You can't put down a high figure simply because that's what you'd like to charge. It doesn't work like that. Maybe any campaign would be more successful if Amazon were made aware of the facts. It's not like they'd be doing us a favour. It's the law.
