It's not like other LE stuff where it doesn't fit properly on a shelf. It's only marginlly thicker than a normal case and fits perfectly fine in a DVD rack, presuming they didn't change the shape, other than making it smaller for BD.

The USA BD does have very few extras. I imagine Lionsgate UK will retire the LE packaging at some point.

I was tempted by this but am going to wait for the UK one to go down in price. It is a better release.

I don't "overall" but I'm allowed exceptions . The extras on the USA BD look piss poor that's all.

You have a point .

Part me of also dislikes giving up extras I have on DVD for the BD. I certainly don't care about always retaining extras or retaining all of them but the USA BD is basically barebones.

If it had for example just a single commentary I'd be a lot less bothered.

I think it's aesthetically displeasing. I mean who needs a metal handle ontop of their BD case?

Is that also a tin? I'm sure I saw the Lionsgate advertised online somewhere and it looked like a regular BD case.

The Lionsgate R.Dogs BD is in a plain blu-ray case.

The BD prices are only a couple of quid more than the DVD prices. Those are super prices for such new titles, especially Chungking Express compared to the expensive Criterion. I've wanted to see Ashes of Time Redux for months (not shown in my cinema grrr).

I reckon I'll pre-order Ashes of Time: Redux (in case the price goes up) but will wait to see a comparison between the Criterion and Artificial Eye Chungking Express, the Criterion only has a commentary and 12 minute featurette.

AFAIK no site has mentioned the extras for the Artificial Eye BDs.

p.s - Sony USA is only releasing Ashes of Time Redux on DVD btw, awful cover art too.

Cut, but not in a way you can really tell I couldnt be bothered so just got the UK version myself and sold my uncut dvd of it.

No need to even get the new edition if you have the old one anyway unless you really need the new pacakging and extras.
