I can only see 1 version - how can you tell which version it is? :)

Peeps who've ordered from play have received the remastered version...sounds like they've got rid of the old stock.

I thought it was now called the "Anniversary Edition" and had a different cover art? If so, it's not there is no new listing.

Thanks. It's a bit annoying because my USA Disc 2 is completely grey with just the usual discrete text. I bet it's a picture disc. Oh well, it's just a picture at the end of the day. It would've been too much hassle to sell and then re-buy. Just for this.

Anyone have Forbidden Planet Blu Ray?
I was quite annoyed and disappointed as mine seems to be missing a commentary (I couldnt find it on the menu), so it has LESS extras than the DVD I had :o Surprised by this really, surely they could fit the commentary on? :icon_suspect:

This is what we should have got with the original release of AVATAR:

- AVATAR Extended Collector's Edition

It looks like this release might be 2.35:1, meaning I'll have to pick up the other release as well for the IMAX version...
TH-42PX80 | DMP-BD50 (MR BD & DVD) | SA-XR55 | SB-TP20 | XBox 360 Slim 250GB | XBox (XBMC, 160GB) | Zotac XBMC HTPC | Gaming PC | 8TB Media Server

It looks like yes, it basically does. The UK DVD:

http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/f ... fid=999#11

It looks a lot better than the USA BD:

http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=9670

I'll leave you to do some of the work and find out what's on the UK BD ;). It was released last month. I bet the Easter Egg to find the Chronological cut is the same.

EDIT: How funny, here's a review of it:

http://www.dvdactive.com/reviews/dvd/me ... eview.html

It looks really good. It's odd the Chronological cut is only SD but to be fair, HD would require a 2 disc release and it is really an extra anyway. Something you'd only watch once.

Last of the Mohicans: Final Cut (what I'm calling it) review:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/45942/la ... e-cut-the/

It looks good and Mark will be pleased to hear:

"Finally, in a welcome change that I'm assuming has to do with musical rights, Clannad's beautiful song "I Will Find You" has been reinserted into a pivotal scene that, for the Expanded Edition, had been removed from the score in lieu of a slower-paced version of "The Gael". Note: thanks to a reader, it's worth noting that the recording of "I Will Find You" is in Gaelic for the Blu-ray, though the melody itself remains the same."

Which is odd as Mann specifically says on the previous Director's Cut, that he cut this as he thought it was too sentimental.

Who on earth told you that  its cacka, so dark its painful to even watch, a total and utter nightmare of a transfer. I want to see the film, not slap the blackness levels so black it hurts the film.
