Quite slow and the Joy Sales DVD is clearly cut. Worth watching only for Lam Ching Ying doing some crazy stuff in a wheel chair.

Good entertainment with Mars as the main star. Has he ever been the leading actor in any other films? Some good action although the wire work wasn't that great. Carina Lau does some impressive gymnastics in it. Has she done any action in any other films? Kara Hui is great as ever.

Black Mask 6.5/10
Average Jet Lee film. Seems like a different film after watching the remastered DVD as the previous time I saw it was in 4:3 dubbed.

Exorcist Master 6/10
Quite close in style to the original Mr Vampire and one of the better sequels. Interesting to see a hybrid Western/Chinese vampire.

Silver Hawk 6/10
Easy to see why it got all the negative reviews upon release. It is very camp with some dreadful dialogue but that's part of its charm. The action scenes were inventive and I love Michelle Yeoh in all her leather gear.

Viva Erotica 8/10
I thought this was going to be very slow and arty but got a pleasent surprise. It is a little arty but in a good way and I thought ther performances were very good. Shu Qi also gets her kit off a lot which is a bonus.

Silver Hawk is diabolical. What was Michelle Yeoh thinking? She's so much better than this. 6 out of 10 is being very kind. It's better than The Touch, which says very little.

Eastern Condors 4/5 Cracking HK actioner with an all-star cast,great entertainment from start to finish.Sammo looks the leanest i've ever seen him here.this german dvd from eyecatcher is probably the best english-friendly version out there.bizarrely the english subs aren't even listed in the menu options,they are there though,and ok.

Yeah the subs are the same as the HKL, only with new subs added for the snake killing scene..

Secret Reunion - 3.5/5
When I was in Seoul in March 2010, they had ads for this everywhere, even sticked onto public busses, trains etc. Got the Korean Bluray (region free, even though it says Region A only).
Good agent thriller with a solid cast (Song Kang-Ho is da bomb as usual). Violent assassination scenes where women get shot in their head with blood spraying everywhere. The film has its comedic and dramatic moments, but not in a pushing manner as in so many other Korean films.

Tetsuo: The First Cut (1989) - what a fuck did I just watch? One of the most bizarre movies I have ever seen.

Peking Opera Blues - 4/5
Most HK films from the 90's (and even the 2000's) became dated instantly but boy this film has held up well. A great film!

City On Fire - 4/5

Iron Monkey 4/5 One of the best 90's HK Kung Fu flicks,loaded with action throughout it's 90 minute running time and with an awesome climax.uncomplicated,easy to follow tale never gets bogged down and has a lot of rewatch value.

It's less than 90 minutes. Which definitely works in it's favour. It's one my fave martial arts films. Not a second is drags.

I never made any statement saying I have seen ALL his films, some I will never watch (Robin B Hood for instance).
But I know I have seen the vast majority of them, and own pretty much all the ones out on dvd, some I have not even watched.

I want to like his films, many start off good and end up shitty I watched a few of his new ones lately and felt the same by the time I got to the end. I wanted so much more!
The Shinjuku Incident turned from a good little film into a dreadful mess by the end. Same goes for Little Big Soldier. The acting is usually dire, and its like watching the same films made over and over again.

The Karate Kid remake was vastly better than anything he does in Asia, he actually acts! not buffoonery acting which is a pain in the arse watching his forced gurning.

Jackie has made more good or great films than poor or bad ones.

His superior 80s output may never be matched.

The less said about the dire Rob-B-Hood the better.

Helldriver (Japan, 2010) 3.5/5
Yoshihiro Nishimura does not believe in budget limitations. With $200 000 and a two week filming schedule he set out to make the ultimate zombie movie. The outcome falls a bit short, mainly due to hectic pacing and extensive use of CGI. That is not to say Nishimura didn’t use traditional ketchup, though, he did, 8000 litres, plus admirable care put into zombie and creature makeup varying from rotten flesh-eaters to spider zombies. Even with it’s flaws Helldriver is a fun ride and an epic trash movie. The film is expected to improve in quality as the full version becomes available – the one viewed here was the 105 minute international cut.

Luckystars & Romero have to be the same person as for Jackie Chan,sure,his films over the last 10-15 years have plummeted in quality but i can forgive a guy who has made so many classics in his hey day.be thankful he's not sunk to Seagal levels of crapness.
