Niki = Jennifer Rush I would guess
Hope = Christina Aguilera (not Johnny Cash), who also did a song called Hurt
Somewhere = Barbara Streisand, from West Side Story (I think)

Week 6: Hope and Same Difference bottom 2; Hope saved

Week 9: Hope and Leon bottom 2; Hope saved

Week 10: The Final

Hope sing John Lennon's "Imagine", Robbie Williams' "Angels" and a performance with Christine Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Beyounce and Whitney Houston of "That's What Friends Are For"

Rhydian sings "How Much Is That Doggy In The Window", "The Birdie Song", and a performance with the McDonald Brothers of Sigue Sigue Sputnik's "Love Missile F1-11".

Hope and Rhydian then both perform the winner's song: "It's Raining Men"

Between the live show and the result show it's announced ITV have bowed to pressure and banned phone ins resulting in the decision being entirely up to the judges. We come back to the results show to find Louis and Sharon have been sacked and Danii deported to Australia.

Simon announces Hope the winners before the audience riots forcing the programme transmission to be cut. Rhydian is never seen again.

Made me laff

Trouble is, I now really wonder what the Riddler would do with "How Much is that Doggie in the Window"

Beverley Thought she was OK, not great, but the backing singer seemed to be doing a lot of work. Not as good as Leona, or even Brenda for that matter.

Same Difference I liked it. Their least bad performance (vocally also) to date now they've grown up.

Niki A few duff notes, but powerful. I thought she was going to sing the whole song acapella for a bit.

Rhydian I don't like the song THAT much, but he was outstanding singing it. Give this man the contract now. Vocal perfection.

Hope Pheobe sang all right, the other girls..? That's the problem, Pheobe carried the other girls who just went "ooo.. ahhh" etc. I didnt know the song very well.

Leon I liked this, he sang it well. This year, if Rhyd is Leona, is Leon Ray Quinn?

* Easily Same Difference's best song, without all the crap in the way. They're still incredibly annoying though.

* Rydian wast boring. It's not his fault the song itself is just so rubbish.

* Leon as usual was so wet and dull.

* For me Hope are the best. This is a Pop show and they're a Pop band. Let's face it Pop is heavily age centric. Agreed it is worrying that as a "band" only one of the girls is doing any work but then it didn't hurt "The Pussycat Dolls".

That said it's likely Pheobe would be out if she were as solo singer. A pop band doesn't need good singers, it needs an image. A solo artist it's all about the singing and just the one person. Pheobe is good but she'd struggle.

What Cowell said made no sense. It's perfectly fine for one of the singers to take the lead but in Hope Pheobe does it every week and what Cowell said about it being strange if they all sang was rubbish. Pick another song then!

I'd only listen to Hope or Rydian after the show is over. The others are good but would I want to listen to them on a Music channel? No way.

That was a surprise. To everyone including Cowell it was obvious Hope would go.

That was a sneaky trick Sharon pulled. I cannot believe Leon and Same Difference keep getting through.

Agreed, Simon's argument was strange. When Take That had 5 people, Gary was the "lead", but sometimes Robbie would take the lead vocals on some songs (IIRC), and they would all sing together. It's not as if Gary sang and the others went "ooooohhh"

Beverly wasn’t great but I was surprised she went.
I found Leon's song familiar because it's on the Groundhog Day soundtrack, sung by the great Ray Charles.
Hope to go next week.... maybe.
I would of preferred Rhydian to sing another song

True but to be fair neither do the rest of Hope normally.

Same Difference It's not that they're bad singers (far from it) but all this kids crap makes me want to throw up. Especially the first song. I thought Michael Jackson would appear half way though.

Niki Very good but she has a charisma crisis.

Rhydian As usual excellent.

Leon Pretty good but otherwise meh. That Brian Freedman guy is an idiot, clearly he doesn't know that Beatles song is supposed to be song stripped bare

Hope Their first song was rubbish, Raquel is a pretty bad singer. It showed bar Phoebe they simply cannot sing. If they were in the charts this wouldn't matter in the slightest (pop "bands" don't need to be able to sing) but in The X-Factor they've got no chance. It's very uncommon for pop bands to have all good singers, all of Westlife can sing but most of Boyzone are awful, it didn't stop them.

Their second song was much, much better. I liked it. Man they've got cleavage. I was loving all the bouncing boobies

IMO Same Difference should go home then Leon. Call me shallow but 5 pretty ladies just sways it for me 8)

Hope are out! GOOD! Their first song was really bad, 2nd a bit better, some of them looked fit during the 2nd performance

But they sung like a bag of cats.
I didnt think Rhydians 1st song was his best (was hard to understand what he was singing) - but his 2nd was very good, if not outstanding IMO. Really liked his passionate performance on the rugby song but would of prefferred it without the choir.
Why does Leon always mispronounce his words?
Niki was very good I thought, better than I thought she'd be.
SD were funny but bloody hell, there is camp and then there is this cheesy, kiddy crap

Any Dream Will Do was OK until Sarah started singing and the kids came on.

Wake Me Up.. was just beyond cheesy. Very OTT.

I was thinking have Hope had implants?

You reckon most of the pop bands in the charts can sing well? Most of Hope are much better singers than Spice Girls ever were.

Pop Bands are all about the image and studio trickery.

No way. We'd miss out on all that eye candy. Like I keep saying pop bands really don't have to be good singers, especially if one of them is to carry the band.

Boyzone were on Jonathan Ross last Friday, except for Ronan and Steve none of them can sing or have any charisma. Boy they looked past it though, Ronan was so thin he looked ill. Take That came back with an updated sound and are still managing to hold their own, Boyzone just look past it.

Steps were very popular and it is the sort of happy pop they'd sing.

I'm no fan of Same Difference but they are better singers than Leon. How can he possibly do well after the show when he's still so nervous, you can hear it whenever he sings.

Leon should've gone but it was obvious Nikki would. Despite the judges claiming it's for all ages it isn't. I seriously doubt people Louis' age really watch it let alone vote.

Michael Booblay does nothing for me as a singer, very bland.

Louis is just bitter both Beverley and Nikki are out and SD are still in. The trouble with SD is yes they could sell millions (possibly/probably more than Nikki/Beverley) but as to longevity?

Once the kids have grown up they'll get rid.

I'd agree most X-Factor winners but Girls Aloud and Will Young are still doing well, most will fail after 1-3 singles though.

Leona and Shayne are doing well too but it's still very early days for thhem.

Rhydian is also performing Somewhere again. I found this song dull TBH, though vocally he was great, would have preferred a Showman performance in the final, oh well.
