It looks like my 24 order may already be shipping as it said my payment went through successfully and my account says:

"Pending Shipment: All stock required for your order has been allocated and is being picked and packed in our warehouse."

Whether this is true who knows.

Brad what is the Amazon voucher/discount (?) listed in the E Tailor vouchers/discounts thread? When i click the link I just get to the DVD Forums menu saying I cant access the page.

It's no longer updated though I don't think. There aren't any Amazon.com vouchers except the 1% discount for AE9.com customers (or something).

I told you I cant go to dvd forums as they dont except Hotmail, or Yahoo addresses. What about fsmail ones? I'm sure I created one of those ages ago.

FSMail accounts aren't the same as Wanadoo accounts. They don't like ANY online based web mail. You need to create a proper Wanadoo account:

Right at the end it will ask to install some configuration changes on your PC. You don't want to do this but by then you'll have a proper e-mail account. It doesn't say you have as that message appears after it's happy you've completed installation.

This isn't web based so DVD Forums will like it BUT the nice part is the same web based form works for Wanadoo's web based and non-web based e-mail. You can login with the username/e-mail address and password you choice earlier.

There is also no storage space limit or Sending attachment limit with Wanadoo accounts. I've told you about this procedure and not to used FSMail before

What ISP are you with? You'll have a non-web based e-mail account with that too.

Huh I've entered my DOB (21 May 1982) and it says You must be over 0 years of age to register with Wanadoo

You're using Firefox to register right? The registration form isn't Firefox compatible. I get the same but it works fine with IE.

@ Grim: At the point it asks to install those setting I'd open a new window and testing logging in online to check your e-mail, if it works then hey presto. I mention this as you don't want to close the registration window until you're sure you're registered.

I've got it now. Signed up for the free account. On the Wanadoo webapage you enter the wanadoo address (xxxx@xxxx.wanadoo.co.uk I'm sure) with your password) then when you've logged in you use the fsmail one to check your e-mail.

(I think). I havent got the registration e-mail from dvd forums yet though.

My 24: Season 1 has shipped. They must actually have it in stock after all.

Yep that's it. You've got the right type of Wanadoo account as the format of the e-mail address is correct. FYI Wanadoo is changing it's name to Orange; Orange have owned them for some time now but the name change is recent.

The Wanadoo.co.uk accounts are proper non-web based accounts. It's just the same web form has also been configured to allow both Wanadoo (web and non-web) based accounts to login.

It's a useful feature. The FSMail web-based or whatever they're called accounts are pants in comparison (I'm sure they have a mailbox limit).

The packaging is a rather ingenious single keep case size. That's right it's exactly the same shape and size as a standard keep case. I then thought they must've squeezed 6 discs in in a really haphazard fashion but they haven't.

The DVDs are housed in the standard strong keep case plastic. I was impressed when they fitted 3 Discs in 1 keep case for Seven Swords. Being only a single sized keep case does take the "box set" feel away but quite frankly for the space it will save me it's well worth it.

I wonder why they did this? It seems an odd move considering this is a box set everywhere else but in Australia it loses that selling appeal. Australian distributors have a history of sticking with keep case. Remember they were one of the only countries NOT to get Warner's awful snapper cases.

If I love Season 1 enough I'll definitely pick up the rest on R4. The space they will save me is well worth the extra cost of Seasons 2-4. The only downside for me is they're encoded Region 4 ONLY. I checked in case I want to eBay it.

p.s - If you remember in Australia they cheekily released each Season in 2 parts, this is what we have here. Each disc says "Part 1 - Disc 1, Part 1 - Disc 2"

Brad do you mean that all 6 discs are stacked on top of each other? 3 discs are fitted in a standard keep case for the Red Dwarf VII BBC R2 set, personally I find that bloody annoying.
Is that what they did?

Why do you find it annoying? It saves loads of space. Okay:

Disc 1 is in the inside front case
Discs 2 & 3 are in a plastic hinge (similar to the type in 2 disc SE's)
Discs 4 & 5 are in another plastic hinge (similar to the type in 2 disc SE's)
Disc 6 is in the inside back case

All of it fits neatly and held nicely in place inside a standard keep-case thick case.

p.s - No I don't mean all 6 are stacked on top of each other as they would then be to thick for the case.

Ah. I see. Seems a good way to save space then Brad.
I find the digistack of the Red Dwarf set annoying as you keep having to swap the discs around to get the one you want.

That does sound annoying. You don't need to do that with 24. Like I said unless I can find Seasons 2-4 MUCH cheaper I'll go R4 again, assuming I buy the other seasons that is.

They're saving me lots of space, ingenious idea. I don't have much of it as it is.

They've been using similar packaging in R4 land for a while now. Eg R4 Warner have abandoned digipacks altogether by the looks of it.

Interesting. I wonder why this is? When the rest of the world very much uses Digi-pack. Pity Digi-pack is my fave. My R4 Moulin Rouge is Digi-pack when the rest of the world got boring Keep-case.

Are R4 DVDs made abroad? And therefore get damaged in transit.

HMV have dropped it by a fiver. I'm tempted but I only paid a more reasonable £13 for 24: S1.
