The Lion King BD up for pre order:
http://www.amazon.com/Two-Disc-Diamond- ... d_i=300381
There's a 4 disc one as well with a BD, a BD 3D, DVD and Digital Copy.
This could be amazing but I hope it doesnt have the stupid ad the BATB BD did.

At the end of the movie, (just before the credits song) you get a "Reccommend Viewing" pop up on the screen, OK it disappears after a bit, but having an advert when the movie is still on is just wrong IMO.

It's during the credits right? An odd place to put it. Most people don't read credits so will miss it and those that do will hate it.

Yeah, during the credits. IMO credits are still part of the movie so it spoilt it for me

Apparently the uk BD of The King's Speech is not 24p...the film doesn't interest me but that's pretty shoddy for such a major release.

It doesn't really interest me but I hear it's excellent. WTF though. So it's 1080p/60?

For such a big release that's unacceptable.
I didnt know you could have 1080p and not 24p in the same BD

It flashes up on my screen anytime there's a change in resolution so I would very much notice.

I mean notice as in when you are watching the film and go ohh noes its not right the discs wrong! as no way people noticed this shit on their equipment at all unless you know what you are looking for and at, and most have zero idea.
Hey just because something flashes up on any screen does not mean that is the exact specs and resolution of the disc anyway
some TV's try to tell you, but can get it wrong on some discs.

it's excellent.if the uk release mirrors the dutch version already out, european release will miss out on lots of extras if that bothers you.

Thanks for the warning.
I'll wait and see but may go for the US version in that case.

Who gives a sod about crap extras - get the disc wayyy more cheaper and enjoy the film. It will be in the UK sales quickly, like all other Pixar discs are. They drop in price so quick its mental.
