Mark are y7ou watching "Howard Goodalls' 20th Century Greats" on C4? Its' about Lennon and McCartney,
Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and the haunting Elanor Rigby are very clever.

Also it told how Lennon's early song "Child of Nature" got turned into "Jealous Guy" many years later - which is really quite a beautiful song (IMO). This song shows a somewhat Eastern/Indian influence too

:D OK no worries, you might not have seen it.
To say the pair revolutionised music in the way Mozart did (!) (something like that) as Goodall said is stretching it. But they had a big impact on pop music in the late 20th century, that is certain.

Just stumbled across the programme and watched most it again - Howard Goodall certainly knows his stuff :)
Just because something like The Beatles and their music has mass appeal, doesnt mean its not important in its field and cant be given a certain level of reverence. :D
