Thanks I watched it a while back but couldn't get into it. I find it incredibly hard to take anime completely seriously and more to the point have any feelings for the characters. An animation can't display the same emotion a human face can.
I did watch it in Japanese Surround though (R1 SE) which didn't help.
As for the sale like all the others as soon as you add postage it's no longer a bargain. At 20 bucks delivered it's not a bargain.

Those Sony DVDs for $5.98 were great bargains a while back but it seems the DVD needs to be no more than 10 bucks for it to be a bargain at DDD. There aren't many DVDs worth having for under 10 bucks at DDD.
The thing is, for me it's not a bargain if it's £10 or more "delivered", unless it's a Criterion or Box set of course.
There are guys over at DVD Forums pleased they spent £12 on Kingdom of Heaven: SE that's not a particularly great bargain when you consider Amazon charge you that anyway.

So far I can only find "Event Horizon: SE" worth buying at £9 BUT it's also the exact same price from DVD Pacific. I only consider £9 for a DVD fairly decent anyway, it doesn't exactly set my world alight.
Box sets are out due to the customs limit.

They have had mayeb £500 out of me over the last 7 years, so I just dont order things over £18 anymore

Sure is. It's an EU thing I think not just Britain anyway, the amount changes between countries but not by much.
The legitimate reason being we're not paying tax for these goods but surely the same rule must apply in New Zealand? The Kiwi government is losing out on tax.

Bugger if I know. EDIT: I asked an acquaintance who orders a lot online and he said that the limit is around $500, awesome.
The Kiwi government is losing out on tax.
They're still deducting it out of my pay and 12.5% GST (equivalent to VAT) on every single item on sale retail.

It's 17.5% here and equally the same so they're still losing out. Of course I'm all for it but it's an interesting point when most of the world does this.
It's odd the Kiwi authorities don't do it too. I'd love 12.5%.
$500 LOL they may as well not bother. That's Kiwi dollars right?

Plus businesses can get their GST refunded 100%.
GST is only 10% in Aussie and was only introduced 6 years ago. NZ introduced GST about 20 years ago.

Oh yes you did. Nothing I can't find any actual bargains.
The only sub $10 DVD I want is Das Experiment and that's not enough to make an order up + it's expensive when bought on it's own.
You're lucky in that you can order box sets, for me box sets are out of the question. I had to pay extra to buy the WKW box set from CD WOW a while back (about £5 more I think) than DVD Pacific as I knew considering the £35 price tag customs would definitely sting me for much more.
Sometimes things manage to slip through (it helps if they're small) but not usually.

Put another way yes UK residents will incur a customs charge but it should/could be much lower than that of the postage elsewhere. One guy over at the DVD Forums has bought £150 worth of DVDs.

not sure how I want to proceed yet, its very, very hard to work out whats cheaper. All together, or some under customs limit, or just go to dvdpasirfic and order there

Back ordered items are still eligible for the 20% sale, even if they don't fill before the end of the sale. Only pre-release items are excluded.
