The trailer had me fooled for a minute.
But I'm not a fool. This is just a cheap-looking cross between Resident Evil and The Mummy Returns with not many redeeming features.
Sure, Will Smith can act. Sure, he's got a cute dog. Sure, the early scenes with the sweeping shots are quite nice to look at. But there's nothing else.
The CG effects and CG creatures are pretty terrible. Makes you wonder what they've spent their money on.
Oh, and the ending of "I Am Legend" is even worse than the ending of Spielberg's War of the Worlds (hard to imagine, I know).

I would give it 2/5 Will Smith is really good in it.
I am Legend 3/5
I thought this was reasonably entertaining watch-once fluff. Highly flawed though and full of obvious plot holes. I agree with Tom about the ending.
Might try and read the book.

I was planning on seeing this movie this Xmas (let me rephrase that: My girlfriend was twisting my arm to go see this movie this Xmas) but hearing about the short running time and 'the ending', which is getting slack for feeling 'rushed' etc, I cant help but feel they have once again dumped a shortened version into the cinema's and we will get a director's cut on DVD in a few months, which made me decide I wasnt gonna bother with watching it in the cinema.

I liked it, it had some stunning scenes in it and it was amazingly effective at times.
But the CGI was shit and the end was odd and over like a turd flushed down the shitter.
Next time use REAL PEOPLE IN MAKE UP!!!!! not CGI flipping dogshiteye!
3.5 out of 5 from me, would have been a contender for greatness, without CGI.

Were the mutants' voices any good? They were done by my favourite vocalist, Mike Patton 8)

Haha, a bit of an understatement. Mr. Bungle wasn't a side project, it was his original band actually. He's currently in Tomahawk, Fantomas, Peeping Tom (his solo project with guests), he works with John Zorn, he's recorded with The Dillinger Escape Plan, and much more

Unconvincing and unoriginal - 2/5.
