What are you going on about Brad? IMAX is just a different film format that' a higher resolution than standard film, usually shown at high-quality display specifications. 35mm converted to IMAX usually looks absolutely fantastic! Christ, at least go and watch a feature film on IMAX before you post naysaying the medium!

And what have I said that made you think I haven't? Didn't your Mummy ever tell you what assumption is?Shingster wrote:Christ, at least go and watch a feature film on IMAX before you post naysaying the medium!
IMAX is all about literally in your face cinema. That doesn't work for everything. Even when it does I'm not a massive fan.

What film did you go see then? Nothing wrong with in-your-face cinema, but the only reason have the idea that that's what IMAX is around to show is because that's all that has been shown in the format so far, mostly so they can draw the crowds in. My point is there's nothing intrinsically wrong with the format.bradavon wrote:And what have I said that made you think I haven't? I didn't say there was. I said it wasn't for me
Fantasia 2000. I should probably see something else but to me 2D cinema works perfectly as it is.
Some 5.1 remixes from Stereo sources work very well but many just add more speakers. It worked perfectly fine in Stereo to start with. This is especially true for albums remixed into 5.1.
