I never knew it was in Portugal also. Interesting so people want to ban it in Portugal? I always though it was loved as a sport. I guess not. So it looks likely it will be banned? About bloody time. What about Spain, do you know? I hope all the murdering scum who take part in such thing (it's not a sport in my book) die. Seriously they should be in jail!

How often out of interest does the man die? I hear even if the bull wins they still kill it???

Aren't possums native? or are they Australian only. Farmers and the like claim Fox's are pests here. Pests to who I ask? Nature is self sustaining, it doesn't need man to help it out.

Are animal circuses still shown in Portugal (or any other part of Europe for that matter)? They used to be in the UK but people are so against them now you simply don't see them. They're all human only circuses.

Yeah, not like WATCHED THE WHOLE SHOW, but just zapped by it and saw it for 1 or 2 minutes...
Watching is really seeing a show from beginning to end, enjoying it I guess, really paying attention to what's going on...
Seeing it is more like Ok I saw it for a couple minutes, then moved on with whatever I was doing...

I'll check it out later cause I'm getting ready for grocery-shopping (God my life is boring since I have a girlfriend), but I have no doubt many people feel the same way. But like I said, I'm a bit of a hypocrite cause I do still eat, and enjoy eating, meat (no gay-jokes please about the meat-eating, Mark... I know how you think )

They're native to Australia, not NZ. I'm not sure if they were introduced by humans, or stowed away on ships and the like.

Possums are truly a menace. They're killing all manner of New Zealand native bird species, including the kiwi. Quite a number of native bird species have been completely gone extinct on the mainland, only surviving on reserves on outlaying islands. Possums can also complete strip the bark off native trees, leaving them dead.

Nature is self sustaining, it doesn't need man to help it out.

Oh yes it does in NZ's case. Possums and other introduced species like stoats have put the local ecosystem out of whack. Native species have been driven to the brink of extinction by unnatural predators. Man has to take responsibility for seriously harming the natural balance.

Man in one way shape or form introduced possoms to NZ. Case in point!

It sounds the same as American to British English but not "as" strong" being that these are essentially the same language.

My view of vegetarian/vegan lifestyle:-
I've always been and will continue to be an omnivore. I see the pro vego arguments, but choose not to follow them. People are entitled to their choices IMO, live and live.

I only have a problem when they try to influence others. They're just like the christian zeolots of eras gone by who want to "convert all the heathens". I'm entitled to my choice just was they are, so leave me alone.

In my experience it's much more likely you'll find an omnivore trying to convince a vegan/vegetarian to eat meat than the other way around.

It used to really annoy me when meat eaters think it's okay to convince me it's okay to eat meat. I'm generalising of course.

Yeah thats what I'm confused about as well... most human beings are omnivores (ie they eat meat and plants). A vegetarian doesnt eat meat, so that person is not an omnivire, no?

I believe Ice is right but the colloquial word for what we are discussing is also omnivore.
