The UK Sony BD "appears" to have more extras but it's only 5.1 instead of 7.1 and is likely to be more expensive. The USA BD also has that Digital Copy and better audio for Lossy/SPDIF users (Full-rate DTS Core guaranteed).

I'll wait to see if the UK Sony BD does in fact have more extras before deciding which I want to buy. I've no interest in the Digital Copy. I am interested in Full-rate DTS but the LG BH200 will convert the TrueHD to 1.5Mbps DTS too.

should have gotten my Rambo 4 today but it got delayed.i'll probably have it tuesday. Good news that it's region free for Region B owners who want it early.

The UK disc is out next month, so that aspect doesn't bother me.

Good, 4/5 for video, nice to know that there are reviewers with some sense out there. The High Def Digest reviewers seem like they compare older films against the expectations of modern ones, which is stupid.

Reading that review you'd think First Blood was a masterpiece. It's pretty good but also so overrated. With out the bits at the end and start you just have a cheap B movie. Rambo 4 is the only good one of the Rambo films. Rambo 2 has it's fun moments.

Rambo 2008 arrived today, mine was also delayed, its a fantastic disc by any standards and a really good film, far better than i remembered, Just ordered the trilogy, also in stock at dvdslimited.

it's a superb film.i think you are the only person i've ever heard of to dislike it.talk about a minority view but each to their own i suppose.

yes got mine this morning as well. as i already have First Blood BD and 2 & 3 on HD-DVD i'll leave my £20 order for the box set in at Amazon. No rush there.

Rambo 4/Rambo (2008):

According to this review the USA BD (like UK BD) does in fact have a standard audio commentary and PIP commentary. It also mentions the branching featurettes are included too, they're just mentioned separately in the UK press release:

In short extras basically look the same:

* The USA BD has an extra Digital Copy
* And a Molog BD Live extra: Post comments "for the world to see", while watching Rambo. Is that really where the power of BD Live is going?

The only real differences seem to be (picture quality aside):

* USA: Region Free vs. UK: Region B
* USA: 7.1 vs. UK: 5.1
* USA: Guaranteed Full-rate 1.5Mps audio for Optical/Coaxial Amps vs. UK: Only 640Kbps DD (you may get more, depending how the Player down mixes the TrueHD)
* USA: Extra Digital Copy SD DVD, considering the next point it's effectively free
* USA: Slightly cheaper

Seems like one would be just as well getting the US BD.

having done a quick check of the BD's of Rambo 1-3 i couldn't really see much difference WITH the respective HD-DVD transfers.

You have the UK HD-DVDs and USA BDs right?

aussie hd-dvds of 2 & 3, i can't see much,if any difference in the picture quality.possibly the same masters used? says studio canal on the back of the BD'S,same as the hd-dvds.soundwise blu-ray wins by the default,the hd-dvds had that early studio canal pitch correction issue,not that i'd noticed.
