I dont mind any place being one race, colour, creed etc..
but as you say when you walk into such places it is an odd feeling.
Happened to me in Bradford when we walked down the wrong road and ended up lost, we were not made to feel friendly at all by everyone around us, I thought we were going to be stabbed. When people are shouting at you, you know your in the wrong part of town. Why? because of our skin colour. Sad and pathetic really no matter who you are, I wouldnt do it that for damn sure.
I have seedn it happen to a few lone black people in my (pretty much 100% white) area, made me sick that the cops did not step in and beat the white scumbags screaming shitty racial names. Guess it makes some people feel really hard when they see a lone person or group.

Why do you say that? I've felt odd before but never uncomfortable. I guess it's how many Black/Asian people feel, we're just not used to it.
Many countries I visit I'm the odd one out being White.

Yeah, but you shouldn't feel 'odd one out' in the UK! If I was in India or Pakistan, fair enough. But there are no go areas for whites in England and Asian ghettos. It's a disgrace and all thanks to enforced multi-culturalism and mismanagement of immigration.
Cue Brad accusing me of being a racist..........

Not racist but small minded, it sounds like you're presuming only White people are British. It happens just as much the other way round, as Romero (rather oddly) points out.
I agree that immigration has been badly managed though.
Markgway wrote:Yeah, but you shouldn't feel 'odd one out' in the UK!
What's the big deal? It's how it's handled that's important. Not everyone in areas full of Asian people are thugs, far from it I imagine.
You also forget it happens just as much in other countries, to minorities, sometimes White minorities.

Brad that case with the documents on the train happened very recently (this/last week I thought).

No, but England is an Anglo-Saxon country is it not? So isn't it odd that there are areas where the once majority are now the minority, like Bradford? Imagine being white and living in Bradford? If I wanted to live in a city/area where the population was majority Asian I'd move to <<shock>> ASIA!! I'll wager that you, Brad, live in a middle-class, majority white area, as 99% of liberals do.
Not everyone in areas full of Asian people are thugs, far from it I imagine.
I never said "full of thugs". You're more likely to be mugged by white people in the UK. That's not what I was getting at. Britain is not America, it's not a naturally multi-cultural society. Having a white minority anywhere in the UK is a sign of badly mishandled immigration policy. And immigrants are always slotted into poor or working class areas (sometimes I feel sorry for them). You know the kind of areas where the liberal "we are all one" elite DON'T live and only hear about on the radio. I'd love to see these lefty politicians living in a council estate where most of the faces are asian or black. They'd be scared to leave the house!!

I've heard that white students there get spat at every time they walk down their road, how bad is that.

We don't still live in the 1600s

. It's not been an "Anglo-Saxon" country for over half a century now.
Markgway wrote:So isn't it odd that there are areas where the once majority are now the minority, like Bradford?
No not really. The British people were once the biggest emigraters on the planet. We turned whole countries white, no black man has ever done that.
Markgway wrote:If I wanted to live in a city/area where the population was majority Asian I'd move to <<shock>> ASIA!
That's a very small minded view. They don't just move here to live with people, just like them. Have you ever been to parts of Spain and Portugal? They're full of British people. There's large British Ex-Pat communities all over the world.
But I suppose that's perfectly okay? We can do it, but others cannot. People movement has been happening for centuries, it's not knew and will never stop.
Markgway wrote:I'll wager that you, Brad, live in a middle-class, majority white area
My opinion would be the same even if I didn't. I really don't see how that's relevant.
Markgway wrote:Britain is not America, it's not a naturally multi-cultural society.
But it should be, for the simple fact that it's been happening already for hundreds of years. Big parts of the world are now so mixed, that it's futile to stop it.
Markgway wrote:Having a white minority anywhere in the UK is a sign of badly mishandled immigration policy.
I won't disagree with you there, not that I consider it to be a problem if it does happen. What are you so scared of? So what they look different, eat different food. That's all it seems to boil down to, the people are different. Big deal.
Markgway wrote:And immigrants are always slotted into poor or working class areas (sometimes I feel sorry for them).
That is a shame but the serious reality is most immigrants couldn't afford housing in more expensive areas.
I guess I'm just saying, it's happening so much more and more, that's it's futile to stop it. We're not better than other countries, we just tend to be richer so local people don't mind so much.

And did you vote for that? Was anyone asked if they wanted Britain to become multi-cultural? I'd like to see them try to impose multi-culturalism on an Asian country. Watch the heads roll...
The British people were once the biggest emigraters on the planet. We turned whole countries white, no black man has ever done that.
And so that's OK then? You condemn imperialism, yet think it's acceptable for ghettos to spring up all across your country? How many Asians in your area, Brad? Your next door neighbours asylum seekers?
That's a very small minded view. They don't just move here to live with people, just like them. Have you ever been to parts of Spain and Portugal? They're full of British people. There's large British Ex-Pat communities all over the world.
If I moved to a foreign country I would try to blend in not recreate my home country. I don't want to move to Spain so I can live in little Scotland do I? And I feel sorry for those Spanish who have to put up with boozed-up, lobster-faced Brits. I'd move!
My opinion would be the same even if I didn't. I really don't see how that's relevant.
Lol. Yes, of course it would. 8) You live in a fantasy world where things happen to OTHER PEOPLE.
But it should be, for the simple fact that it's been happening already for hundreds of years. Big parts of the world are now so mixed, that it's futile to stop it.
Multi-culturalism is relatively new in the UK. Hundreds of years? Name all the non-caucasian countries that are multi-cultural? (Countries where western culture has been widely accepted)?
What are you so scared of? So what they look different, eat different food. That's all it seems to boil down to, the people are different. Big deal.
Who said scared? I simply like the fact that Scotland is Scottish (England has more to worry about since it seems to be ashamed of its identity) and have no wish to see it become multi-cultural. Anyone is free to live in Scotland (couldn't give a shit about race) but you must respect Scottishness and not try to change it.
That is a shame but the serious reality is most immigrants couldn't afford housing in more expensive areas.
Nor most working class white people. Hence why all the people that the government and the liberal elite don't give two shits about end up in poverty-row crime-ridden estates.
I guess I'm just saying, it's happening so much more and more, that's it's futile to stop it.
That's what the Germans said about Nazism in the 30s.

I'm a Liberal leftie. I'd have voted Yes if I was asked

.
Markgway wrote:I'd like to see them try to impose multi-culturalism on an Asian country. Watch the heads roll...
I can see it happening with some Asian countries as time goes on and they become more prosperous.
Markgway wrote:How many Asians in your area, Brad?
You want exact numbers? More than I realise probably. I live in the middle of a city. I don't condemn imperialism, or condone imperialism for that matter

.
Markgway wrote:If I moved to a foreign country I would try to blend in not recreate my home country.
You would, but millions of Brits go abroad each year and expect the locals to speak English. Thousands of Brits live in places like Spain and Portugal but expect it to be "Little Britain".
Markgway wrote:Multi-culturalism is relatively new in the UK. Hundreds of years?
You said The UK. I was talking about Multi-culturalism on a global scale, we went to America and made it very multi-cultural.
Markgway wrote:Name all the non-caucasian countries that are multi-cultural? (Countries where western culture has been widely accepted)?
I'm not sure how many I'm supposed to list but off the top of my head: India and Malaysia, both are very multi-cultural. Malaysia has three distinct ethnic groups. I know. I've been there.
Markgway wrote:England has more to worry about since it seems to be ashamed of its identity
Patriotism has become synonymous with colonialism in this country, except at Football time. It's much easier for other countries in The UK not to feel this because despite being equally accountable they're much smaller. People once considered colonialism a good thing, today it's opposite. Thankfully.
Markgway wrote:Anyone is free to live in Scotland (couldn't give a shit about race) but you must respect Scottishness and not try to change it.
Contrary to all the media bullshit I imagine many Scottish immigrants do just that, even though they continue to believe their own beliefs too.
I come back to my earlier point that the reality is we're NO better than any other country in bringing our own beliefs with us.
Markgway wrote:That's what the Germans said about Nazism in the 30s.
I cannot believe you're comparing the Nazi's to Multi-culturalism in The UK.

I didn't literally mean Anglo-Saxon

. Neither did Mark, if you read his comments

. Anglo-Saxon as in White European, for want of a better phrase.
Why would we be talking about Anglo-Saxons from 500 years ago? How is that relevant to the current discussion?

.
grim_tales wrote:1/2 century is 50 years

Very good

. I meant 50 years, as that's roughly how long current immigration has been happening.

well we rescued them both, the white one we rescued when she was 4-5weeks old, she was locked in a room, with her brothers and sisters, full of fleas, and other parasites, feces everywhere, a few more days and she would have died, the woman was trying to sell them, whats worse almost is that the kids were living in the room with the animals. (she later had her kids taken away) And the other we rescued his mom whist she was pregnant, from a family who were going to drown her, the kids threw stones at her, and threw her in the pond in the garden. She had 5 kittens and we kept this one...we kept the mom too but she got hit by a car a couple years ago. Cant stand people who abuse animals.

I love cats too but where I live in the middle of a city, on the third floor and landlords never allow pets (unless you're super lucky) I sadly cannot get one

.
I used to have cats all the time as a kid. I'll definitely get 1-2 when I get my own place, maybe next year. Cats are much more interesting than dogs, who're fun but are usually dumb, well compared to cats anyway.
