I've just discovered that you can set more than one homepage, and when you open your browser it opens them simultaneously in different tabs.

Really? You've never added an extra Search Provider before? It's been there since IE7 and was nicked from Firefox. I have loads in mine.

That's only been there since IE7, 3 years ago :D. Don't you ever delve into Options? ;).

Personally I dislike it but I can see why it's useful, it's something IE has over Firefox.

Yeah I knew you could have different search providers on it (I just use Google), but I never knew you could add Wikipedia to it, as that's not technically a search provider is it, it's an encyclopaedia.

"Search Provider" is the MS name for the feature.

You can add all manner of websites. The search aspect regarding Wikipedia is "searching the encyclopaedia". I also have IMDB and eBay added, to name two.
