I never knew Batman has had 3 Robin sidekicks. Dick Grayson is the only one I've known from the Batman TV Series, Batman (1966), Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

He's a better character in the comics, and specifically Tim Drake, who's awesome.

Batman had many more sidekicks btw, including these 3 Robins, but also a female blonde Robin, plus a female ginger Robin in The Dark Knight Returns. Also, there have been 2 batgirls (Barbara Gordon and Cassandra Cain), Batwoman, Oracle (again Barbara Gordon btw), and a couple of others. There's even Damian Wayne, Bruce's son, who is the 5th Robin.

I didn't know any of that. Any idea why she's called Barbara Wilson in Batman and Robin?

1. I've never cared for Robin as a character. Maybe Chris O'Donnell soured me for life.

2. Conversely it's probably not fair to hold Batman & Robin against Mr. Freeze.

3. If Nolan hadn't been so intent in cramming two movies worth of story into one Two-Face could've become the main villain of The Dark Night Rises (with the end of The Dark Knight the set-up).

4. Brad would never skip Dick. Ever.

I don't think Dark Knight is two movies. I've never got why Batman and Robin is considered trash, yet Batman Forever isn't. They're both dreadful. Everything about them is wrong.

It's just that B&R is a bit worse...

To be fair, Batman Forever did its job because as a kid that was my favourite Batman film. Obviously now I see it a little differently lol

Well, not really. Everybody thought he was dead. In reality he was in some kind of limbus, somewhere in time, and until his return Dick Grayson (Robin) was Batman. I never believed he was dead since in "Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?" Bruce sees his friends and enemies at his own funeral.

I have no idea who Deadshot is btw. Also not sure if he's an interesting character.

The whole Batman = dead storyline just seemed like the latest in a long line of ridiculous shock-storylines which have plagued comics for many years now. Lately it's been Batman and Cap America (oh wait surprise they're not really dead... of really? yeah really.... wow... who would have thought oh boy what a shock twist...(!))

TBH, I have never ever cared for such storylines, and I doubt I ever will. It's just such complete bullshit. But TBH, the whole comicbook-industry right now is just a bunch of bullocks anyway. You've got a dozen Spider-Man titles set in multiple universes, hardly any of them interesting, you've got a Superman that's being re-invented every 2 years orso now, and none of those new re-inventions is anywhere close as good as John Byrne's Man of Steel, and it's all just a very commercial mess.

I wish there was just 1 or maybe 2 great series for every big character. Good writer on it. Good artist on it. And instead of going for the cheap shock-thrills or the endless universe-spanning cross-overs, I'd rather just see these writers create short stand-alone stories spanning 1 or a couple of issues, before the next story comes along.

My favourite Batman stuff is just the stories that completely stand on their own. Ofcourse there can be a minor deeper background story going on with the characters, but I just want to see Batman get busy doing what he does best, which is cleaning the streets of Gotham City, sometimes alone, sometimes with 1 or more of his allies. That's all. And Batman 'dying'.... come on... is there anyone in the universe who even thought for a second that he might really be 'dead'....!?

With cap America I had very VERY slight doubts, mostly because Steve Rogers has been a bit of a lame character all these years, so it could have made sense to kill him off and replace him with Bucky... but with Batman, pretty much the best superhero that's out there character-wise, there would just be absolutely no way.

Deadshot is in possibly the best segment of Gotham Knight, check it out.

It is indeed, unfortunately it's a bit hit and miss in my opinion, but the one with Deadshot is cool!

Catwoman in the comics and also in the cartoon, is a strong-minded mature WOMAN. I would have preferred an actress like

Shannon Sossamon.

Heath Ledger was a pretty boy and look what they came up with. Nolan goes for gritty/real and I doubt he'll allow her to look soft. I have faith in Nolan's decision making. He's not got it wrong yet.

Didn't he get it 'wrong' with both Katie Holmes and Gyllenhaal?

Also, I'm still not all that fond of Bale in the role of Bruce Wayne. I would have much preferred Joaquin Phoenix, who is a fucking shoe-in as Bruce Wayne, has the perfect combination of charm and 'crazy' and intensity needed for the role, and I also consider him a better actor.

I'm sure Nolan won't fuck up the movie, as he's a great director and he knows how to handle this subject, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't have preferred some different casting decisions...

Yup, lots of people in this thread have seen many of Hathaway's films it seems! She broke out of her "Miss goody-two shoes Disney queen" image over 5yrs ago people, try to catch up! She has more than enough talent to play Catwoman, which won't be the most demanding of roles in the first place.
