£250 a month? Where did you get that figure from? If I qualified I would have been entitled to £49.50 a month...

I used to get £125 every two weeks (paid in arrears). It does depend how much you earn, how much your savings are and how many people you live with etc...

Do you have a partner earning? I had no money coming in, a lot less than £16000 savings and live on my own. I don't think it makes a difference if you're on contribution or income based JSA. I was originally on contribution and then changed to income based when my contributions ran out.

You must have lots of savings, other people earning cash or something to only get £50 a month.

They are if they're not paying you because they expect you to get it from JSA. The fact they don't have it is secondary and like you are you definitely want to take it to the small claims court.

How can they pay us if they don't physically have the money?!

I've got over £16,000 saved, I live with my parents & I don't have a partner. I just need another job, fast!

That's not what I meant. I'd imagine it's illegal to hold back money you're owned because they expect you to get it from JSA. The fact they cannot actually pay you is secondary to that and why we have a small claims court.

It's a good job you've saved up. I'd have really struggled if not for JSA, my rent/council tax paid for and living incredibly frugally.

I even had change left from the £250 a month after food and bills.

Sold a bunch of old dvds and invested the money on a Nobuhiko Obayashi dvd that is apparently going oop right now.

It is an old disc. I guess it's discontinued.

Just bought a PS3, with FIFA09 and Resistance Fall of Man.

Now, I just need to buy me a plasma screen to play it on.

I recommend playing Resistance on Normal difficulty, if you actually plan on enjoying the game. The hard difficulty lives up to its name. The save checkpoints are very badly placed and can be far apart from each other; ie if you die you might have to redo sections that often take up to 10 minutes to get through.

The PS3 has a permanent HDD, they had no excuse not to implement saving anywhere.

Yeah, I'll probably play it on normal. I never pick 'easy', as it usually just ruins the game. If 'normal' is too easy, I'll switch to 'hard' (which I did with Jade Empire, which was supposedly much too simple on the normal setting, so I played it only on the hardest setting)

Too bad about the checkpoints being bad. I dont mind checkpoints (in a game like Ninja Gaiden Black I felt it added to the experience and difficulty), but with certain games you prefer the option to save when and where you want.

Ah well, we'll see how it is. As soon as I get the plasma, I'll probably first play a bunch of other games anyway, before Resistance. I still have GTA4, HL2 Orange Box, MGS4, Uncharted, etc etc etc lying around. Resistance will be the kind of game to throw into the machine when you're bored for a day, and will give it a try...

Love it. Seen it once on 35mm and twice from the KR dvd. Tokyo night has never looked better on film. But you'll get more out of it if you've played the game. Excellent adaptation.

No, I didn't buy "Noriko's Dinner Table" from yesasia, but traded it in on a German forum, same as "Like a Dragon". The latter I've already watched on our big Genre-Filmfest and loved every second of it, although some of the twists and characters started to confuse me a little, but it wasn't so bad that I'd lose interest. Maybe I'm gonna play the game after all.

It's not the greatest game ever made but it's pretty fun. In the beginning it feels monotonic, but then you meet a karate master on the streets and he starts teaching you the moves (blocks, combinations, counter-attacks). Also, you can use pretty much anything as a weapon (trash bins, umbrellas, swords, rocks...)

There's some very atmospheric yakuza film style sequences (event spoiler, no story spoiler) --> (attending a big shot's funeral) and it's fun to walk around in Tokyo. There's a bit too much random fighting that you can't prevent, though. But the story is good. Also remember to visit a restaurant a couple of times a day. The character loses his strength if he doesn't eat anything.

Oh, and beware the hostess clubs. The girls cost a fortune.
