That's an absolutely stunning cover. Brilliant.

Have I seen them? Yes. I own three copies if the first film, two of the next three, and one of the last two. Plus I used to own the Studio Canal disc of Jailhouse 41 but I sold it.

The Shunya Ito interview might be the Studio Canal interview from their Jailhouse 41 disc. But Hasebe? That must be REM's own work because it's not on any of the other dvds.

The REM transfer for the first film seems like an NTSC to PAL conversion of the Toei transfer. I'm assuming the rest are the same.

I loved the first game. It provided extremely hectic closed-quarters firefights against brutally intelligent squad-based AI enemies.

FEAR was released in 2005 and (aside from STALKER) I can't think of a single game released since that comes close to its AI.

I know the BD would have been more future proof but I really don't know what HD display/equipment I'll have in the future.

Well if I got the US DVD/BD set I'd have to wait for BD to go Multiregion
I may get the DVD/BD at some point.
Actually I may get the DVD/BD set of Pinocchio when that comes out

There's no need to rush into HD yet, Grim. DVD-quality is already pretty good, and most BR's and good HDTVs are still pretty expensive. I'm also still waiting to upgrade.

Something good about the financial crisis... UK dvds have turned cheap to Euro customers. The rate used to be about 1:1.6. Now it's 1:1.1.

Amazon marketplace, 11€ in total (shipping included). City of Violence will probably grow wings after I've viewed it...

I would buy more UK dvds but the stupid brits haven't released any interesting films on dvd

A month orso ago the pound almost equalled the euro It was 1:1.06 or something

A shame play.com has it's own (pretty skewed) currency-converter... so they're actually pretty expensive compared to some other etailers who do properly convert the pound to euros.

Recieved Sleeping Beauty: 50th AE R1 today from an Amazon seller - but the case was broken and the insert was torn *bangs head* I emailed the seller asking for a new insert so I'll what they say.

Have you always used MACs Shen? Only one USB port is very limiting, they really should've given it two. What screen size does it have?

I've been thinking about getting a Netbook. My laptop is fine but even 15.4" is too big sometimes, something I can fit in a backpack would be very handy. I'd wait for Windows 7 though. There's no way I could go back to XP now and Vista is just too power hungry (although presumabely with 2GB RAM it isn't too bad). W7 isn't, it runs well on Netbooks. Either way I'd get one that was upgradeable to 2Gb.

It's rumoured when W7 ships, Netbooks will use the crippled Starter Edition, there's no way I'll get one with that version. Basic is the way to go.

18 months ago I looked at getting an Ultra Mobile Laptop but they cost so bloody much I went for a 15.4" model instead. At the time Netbooks didn't really exist. I still don't see the point in getting 17" models, they're so huge.

* Ultra Mobile Laptop - Same technology as standard laptops but significantly smaller and because of this they cost a bomb (£800+). They come with DVD drives.
* Netbook - About the same size as a Ultra Mobile laptop but greatly reduced hardware (fine for web use) and therefore are dirt cheap, you can get a decent one of under £200. They don't usually come with DVD drives (save space and reduce cost).

Both have around 8-9" screens, which gives you an idea of their size.

Macs suck.

I doubt they do suck. Windows, MAC OS and Linux are all complex operating systems with learning curves. So many people reckon Vista is rubbish, a massive portion of that actually boils down to ignorance. If you've never used Vista or don't take the time to learn how it's different, how can you actually know it's rubbish? Hear say isn't exactly a reliable source.

I imagine the same applies to MACs, and Windows for MAC users. I'm more than happy with Windows (especially since 2000) but seriously doubt there is much seriously wrong with MACs. If Shen likes them, fair enough.
