The Devils is excellent (where's the DVD/BD?), Eyes Wide Shut is awful though. What was Kubrick thinking? The optically censored R rated cut is funny though (why bother?). Kermode recently talking about The Devils: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/markkermode/2011/09/

Eyes Wide Shut isn't awful at all, and it's not quite complete as he was killed and the film had parts cut out of it by Warner Bros because it revealed too much

It's uncut in The UK or do you mean it was originally less cut? Are you sure it wasn't just nudity that was cut? The story was likely the same. Yes it's awful

Kubrick used his films to reveal esoteric information (he was originally used to film the fake Moon landing), and Eyes Wide Shut took it so far that they disposed of him and 'cut the film to shreds', it's the only film of his where we're not seeing his final edit of it.

What's awful about it then?
