I've just got the basic 4-disc boxset, not the useless Limited Ed. No would've I've paid $129NZD for all that novelty junk.

Amazon.de charges $30-ish NZD for shipping to my arse-crack of a country (We're SO backward in the uptake of new technology, it'll probably be another 10+ years before we see free HDTV broadcasts). $115NZD all in total for the wooden bollocks.

The standard digipack 4-discer was $72NZD w/ shipping, a bargain IMO for considering the high Euro-NZD conversion rates.

Interesting that the HKL blurb for Spooky Encounters says it was one of the inspirations for Raimi's "The Evil Dead". While SE was released in 1980 and TED wasnt released until 1982, TED was shot in 1979 and was just kept on the shelf for 3 years

Got the usual Dollar-boxset today, new headphones from Sony (finally). Also got a new comic book edition of 'Best of Batman'.

Best of Batman? what's that like? A german book or something? How's the paper? DC usually goes for the cheap paper for their paperbacks, where-as marvel usually has the nice, slick paper...
what kinda stories are in there? good art?

Nope, I just got the usual 4 disc set, as I have stopped getting big huge box sets, lol. I would have gotten that if it was released half a year ago.

Back when 'Once Upon a Time in the West' was released I got the limited wooden box edition which came with the soundtrack and the harmonica in a leather case.

You might know the German newspaper F.A.Z. (Frankurter Allgemeine Zeitung). It is currently releasing one classic comic every two weeks or so. They are books with about 256 pages each and they feature a selection of the most important stories.

They are also quite cheap. Only 5 Euros. The paper is so and so. Wouldn't call it high-quality paper, but what can you expect for €4,90.

In total there will be 20 comic books:

I have 'Superman' and 'Batman' so far. I'll also get 'Spider-Man' and 'The Simpsons'. Maybe 'Dilbert', 'Blueberry', 'Gaston' and 'Hägar', too, but I'm not really interested in the rest of the comics.

It's funny to see how the comics have progressed. 'Superman' for example totally changed. Not only in terms of drawings, but also the way they used to talk etc.

They are only in German, but man, you're Dutch. All Dutchmen speak German, he he he!

Man, my german SUCKS big time. We had it in school but I was really lousy at it, so I was just drawing pictures in my big German Workbook all the time. Only reason I passed that class was because the teaches liked my drawings

Cool initiative from that paper, though, and its eems like good value for money as well

Just Recieved Saw: Uncut (Region 1), got to say the cover look very nice indeed, its like a jell covering the case with blood swizzling around. Very cool, and this dvd also include the short Saw Film. Now i just need to offload my sealed copy of Saw Uncut Region 2.

Gah, i want that new R1 so badly...but i already have the R2 uncut and i hate to rebuy it :x

It's kinda hard to explain, cause there are a lot of puffed rice snacks out there that taste nothing like PUFF Rice, but basically it's pufefd rice with chocolate on top. Very light and delicious, and probably my favourite candy of all time, however it's pretty difficult to find here in Holland...
But when got back from my HK vacation we landed in Stutgart so we drove through Germany, and underway we went to a supermarket and I was able to buy a couple of big bars, which I all ate within a week orso

Perhaps LD can explain better as to what it is...

I just got Strange Days R2 from CD-WOW rentals

I just ordered the R2 Batman Begins from CD-Wow for £11.99.

I was going to get the R1 Deluxe Edition for the NTSC picture but I'm not bothered about the comic book extra & its not really worth paying another £5-6 just for an NTSC picture.

This time the R2 version won for me...

8 pound for the Region 3 was cheap enuff for me from cdwow

I don't buy R3 versions of American films. Don't ask me why... I don't know! I just see it as an American film should be bought on an American DVD (or UK if its the same but cheaper) and an Asian film should be bought on a R3 DVD...

Ahhh but to be fair to a very few R3 dvd makers you cannot tell the difference between the R1 and the R3 dvd (warner, fox), it must be crap for asians just getting 100% full english dvd covers but good for me.
