Fucking disappointment beyond belief. I was sure that the "surprise film" at next week's Night Visions film festival would be Human Centipede II. But no, it's some fucking Attack the Block

Just when I've been reading how Human Centipede II's been a festival riot and something that you absolutely have to see in cinema with good folks (alone at home it would be much more boring)...

Crazy dream last night. I was Al Pacino. I was fighting some guy on top of a tree, was thrown off and fell into a well. All seemed fine until I tried to stand up and my shin bones were poking out of my skin. Then I woke up....

I'm reading Kermodes' book "It's Only a Movie" ATM, it's quite funny and a good read so far, but Kermode is very forthright in his opinions (going on about The Exorcist etc), which can be annoying at times

He says what he's thinking, I'd prefer that than a critic who says what other people are thinking. Who says you have to agree with critics anyway?

Ok, so you coupletely misunderstood. I'm not talking about noisy cinemas... the opposite. In normal screenings you have just a bunch of assholes chatting, eating popcorn, using cellphone, and laughing in the wrong spots. And when the film ends that's all.

The great thing about (good) film fests is that there you have cool people in the audience, who know how to behave, laugh in the right spots, applause after a great movie, take part in the pre- and after-film activities, and are generally enthusiastic about it. And when you also have the director sitting in the audience and aswering questions in Q&A, female cast doing live karaoke, special effects workshop, filmmakers chatting with you in the bathroom when you're taking a piss, etc etc... now, that's what I'm talking about.

Okay, so you completely misunderstood too. All of the above sounds most annoying.

Also, I've had the opportunity to go to screenings with "meet the director" but I've never been. It doesn't really interest me nor does meeting artists at concerts. Their work speaks for them. I do like live stuff though, so maybe proven wrong.

I've been thinking about getting this. Is it more an autobiography (little interest) or Mark's opinions on films (interest)? I'm gonna pick up "Good, The Bad and The Multiplex".

It's not really an autobiography, its more anecdotes/stories and his opinions so far.

Guys, get this shit: A girl added me on Facebook recently and apologised for her drunken behaviour a few months ago (she'd basically been very forthcoming with me and asked to go back to mine to have sex, I declined and passed her back on to her friends). I accepted and accepted her apology as we all do silly things when drunk, and she is a cute girl to be fair.

She's been texting me pretty much daily over the past week and we've been on about meeting for a coffee. She texted me earlier today asking if I'm out tonight, I said I wasn't planning on it because I have work in the morning and I'm kinda saving myself for NYE, she persists. I ask around to see who's out, and then relent to her, I will go out. I go out, and when I eventually see her I make conversation with her. Now, I'm an infamously self-critical guy, but I can say with certainty that I did not fuck up in this conversation, I kept it good and I kept it flowing.

Then a couple of mates came over after a while and the girl fucked off. At first I put it down to them coming over, but then I realised she'd left the bar and hadn't texted me I started thinking that maybe I'd fucked up. Then after a while she texted me and asked if I was still out, so that dispelled my negative thoughts. I then arranged to meet her outside the next bar. When I then saw her, she was like 'you smell of Jager Bombs' and I was like, 'yeah I've just had a Jager bomb haha' and she was like 'why did I come out? You smell of Jager bomb' and again I was like 'haha yeah I've just had one, so do you wanna go outside and talk?' and she was all like 'why did I come out?' so I was like 'OK I'm going to go meet my friends outside'.

She then texts me asking if I am still outside, to which I reply, yeah I'm outside. She then asks if she should come talk to me outside, I reply yeah let's talk. I meet her outside and she just keeps saying 'why have I come out tonight, it's cold, this George guy is staying at my house tonight, where is he' etc. and I'm trying to keep normal conversation going.

BASICALLY, FUCK WOMEN, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY EVIL.
