I need to se The Score 1&2 some time. I think the R4 releases might have been ok?

Straw Dogs is terrific, saw it on TV a few years ago.

Dead Run HK dvd is on my list, too. I've actually never seen a single film from Sabu.

And I need to get the oop R2J Gonin double pack with the director's cut of the first film.

I have no faith in Ishii's recent films though.

But why UK Yakuza Graveyard? The R1 isn't great, but the UK disc should be total crap.

Imprint was banned from the US TV for a reason. It was on Finnish TV, though. Good, but damn hard to endure.

Kamikaze Taxi is pretty good. Too bad the R1 is non-anamorphic, and Eastern Eye never managed to release it (they were supposed to... for years). I don't think there's a R2J at all...

Tokyo Eyes looks interesting...

Again I got the UK-DVD of "Yakuza Graveyard" basically for nothing; a trade, that is.
If it's too bad, I can still sell it and go for the Rapid Eye Movies Release instead.

Wasn't the longer version of "Gonin" only released on Laserdisc? Anyway, because it doesn't fit completely on the disc, this longer version (which is, btw, not the version Ishii wanted in the first place) ends earlier than the theatrical version. The last scene is missing. Anyway, I'm big Ishii-Fan. A great artist who still succeeds in creating stylish images regardless of a humble budget.

Subtitles are available for the longer version, but for me it's way too expensive.
Sure, the movie is great, but just not special enough to justify spending so much on it.

I'm 99% sure it's long oop, yesasia just doesn't update their info. Try ordering from them and in a week they'll tell you "Sorry, couldn't find it". Has happened with every other Somai film...

Had to get myself more high school action cause I'm already halfway through Rebellion League of Girls in Sailor Uniform which, btw, kicks ass. The action choreography is by Sonny Chiba's Japan Action Club and gets pretty insane at times, like when an entire football team attacks our sweet heroines.

No subs for August as far as I know. But most Ishii films don't feature much dialogue... In fact, some feature none.

There's lot of crucial (and funny) dialog in "The crazy Family", though. But you told me already that there'd be subs available. If not, I'd still be happy to translate the German subs for you.

Concerning "August in the Water", I'll wait for your review, then. Maybe I don't need subs for that one, after all.

The Mummy (1932): Universal Legacy Series (R1)

Comes in a sort of thicker digipack almost like a VHS case!

Bought Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars today for 2,50. They also had a bunch of other HKL discs that I didn't have yet, like Dragon Lord and Young Master, but haven't picked those up. Have to check which version of Young Master it is ( I remember buying an Eastern Heroes VHS 15 years orso ago, only to find out it was a cut and dubbed version), and never been too impressed with Dragon Lord.

If it was the HKL DVD of Young Master it would be uncut, no?
On the Young Master trailer they said something like "His amazing directoral debut" - wasnt that really Fearless Hyena?

I just ordered a bunch of kit for my new server, about £400 and it should last me at least 6 years.

2TB storage included in that price, and space enough to fit up to 10 HDDs for massive storage expansion in the future.

Fist of Legend - HMH German DVD

Although it doesn't list them on the back of the case, it DOES have English subtitles. The Japanese characters speak Japanese, the Chinese Cantonese (I assume).
The picture looks very good with a nice 16/9 transfer. However, I don't know if this version is cut or not, as the DVD says FSK 14 on it, not FSK 18.

I think this DVD looks to be a port of the French DVD, only with English subtitles.
The FSK 14 rating threw me a bit - maybe LD has this DVD and knows? The ending looks to be the full one - right after the end credits the cast are waving goodbye or something.
The scenes from the Taiwan version are included as deleted scenes.

These were 4 for 10€ / 2.99€ psc.

What are the specs like for those Shaws, Hung?
