Guilty as charged, Quick Launch bar is awesome. The Vista search that shamelessly rips off OSX's Spotlight is also pretty sweet.

Vista x64. This is from the highly underrated PC game, Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption (2001, Nihilistic Software, Activision).

I prefer to only have a handful of icons in Quick Launch as having too many, means you have no room for open programs and IMO doubling the size of it looks messy, plus I bet you don't you half of those icons regularly anyway.

I tend to have 5-6 and then use the first part of the Start Menu for more. I always turn off how XP/Vista/W7 show the last program you opened on the Start Menu, as I find that annoying. W7's Superbar is different though and I have lots of stuff on there, not things I don't use regularly though.

Speaking of something Microsoft hasn't ripped off Apple (and proof they certainly innovate too), check out Live Mesh. Right now it's:

1. RDP (actually more like LogMeIn Free)
2. 5Gb Cloudspace
3. Sync across PCs

But the long term plan is to create an environment you can store your files online, work on them online but also access your favourite programs online. There are SDKs and APIs setup to do this. It just needs software developers to jump on board. Live Mesh is still very much in the early stages but the free Beta allowing the above is very impressive indeed.

What's that docking program you're using called? It's a pretty similar concept to W7's Superbar, just at the top of the screen. It's odd you've turned off all icons on the Desktop and Quick Launch too.

What made you choose Avast over AVG? I wouldn't go near them but when someone specifically asks me to recommend free Anti-Malware I recommend AVG. It's come on a long way over the past few years, still missing security features from the paid protection mind you but then it's free, so what do you expect.

Its called RocketDock, works fine for what I want, simple and works with no bugs I dont need any icons anywhere else, everything I need pops up when its wanted, if its not wanted it stays hidden, why waste the stystem resources with crap and tat you never ever use.

Avast decimates AVG, have used and read up on them both AVG went shit years back, all comparisons say much the same. In fact Avast decimates most pay for software in the comparisons I have read over the years. Its free and it beats the pay for software, why would anyone not have it is the question.

I am more into the photography side of many images latley, if its a shitty taken image, its crap to me now. Arty seems to grab me nowadays.

Thanks. A strange thing to say though, given that it uses resources (even when hidden I'd guess) when Quick Launch doesn't, which I guess covers a similar job. It does look cleaner than Quick Launch though. Windows 7's Superbar covers a similar job.

Personally I didn't think much of the interface, it put me off. Even without all the frankly bizarre skins you can apply to it.

I can appreciate that, it's just that one is odd. There are some stunning photos on the likes of Flickr.

I wish I could take photography like that, not that I really have the inclination to learn.

Thanks Shing. Oops. It is hard to read with such massive wallpapers. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

As good as it looks personally, I prefer to limit the amount of things that load up at startup. Quick Launch works well enough, until users upgrade to Windows 7. The site also notes 64-Bit isn't supported. They better get on and fix that, now Windows 7 64-Bit is fastly becoming the norm (except on Netbooks).

You can view previews of it here, but around 3-4 of the images will be a little spoilerish if you don't follow the manga. The download links for the artbook on that webpage don't work BTW, so if you want it just let me know, alternatively if you give me the resolution of your desktop I can create some wallpapers for you.

Do you know any site that might have a download link forthe Valkyria Chronicles artbook? I used to have a site bookmarked on my old PC that had lots of artbooks listed, but I started this PC with no old bookmarks, cause I just had too many, of which many were too old and didn't work anymore, so now I just started 'fresh' with the bookmarks

I am kinda up-to-date with the manga. My last Naruto-manga was nr. 45. After that one, they increased the price to 10 dollars, instead of 8, so haven't bought any manga since. Didn't really notice any spoilers on that page, but TBH, I haven't looked at ALL the pics
