Mark Gway should sign back up now

Sorry to hear of Mark Pollard's personal crisis. That's of course the most important thing to resolve. With regards to the forum, he should probably pass it on to someone else (*ABT) to run. A site is bigger than one person and I don't remember Pollard ever being around much anyways. I'm not speaking for myself, but for the hundreds of fans who use it.

Yeah, same thoughts. Sorry to hear about his problems, but he should just let other people take over the site.

Weirdly I just had the same exact message that Master posted, pop up in my junk folder. But I never got round to joining KFC

I assume it's a financial issue? People think running a popular website is a golden ticket due to advertisement income and whatnot but in most cases the opposite is true. Hope it all works out for him and if he can't return as the owner of the site he finds a way to pass it on to someone else because KFC is easily one of the most important asian film fansites on the internet.

Small vent: it just seems like such a jerk thing to do. There was just so much information, good and bad, but still lots of good material to search for. I was watching the Crash Cinema version of The Secret Rivals and on the extras Linn Haynes is on there. He had a decent amount of posts that are now gone.

I just don't see why it could not have been sold or passed on to someone else (of course if I bought it I would bring back Mark). There was no warning either. That was an extremely asinine move.

I'll add that I don't particular like the yuku site (seems slow.)

As mentioned it was poosibly financial,if it is i'm sure if Mark had explained this and asked for donations he would've got the necessary support to keep the site going. i can't take to the yuku site either.

I was expecting that too. Maybe our registering system is broken

The new board doesn't seem to be catching fire really. I hope the old forum comes back at some point.

I've heard no news on the old forum, which is bad news. I was hoping Mark Pollard was going to be reasonable about this. He could even make some money off of it if he wanted to.

Do we know people have been trying to get in touch with him?

i read a comment somewhere that he hasn't been around for 5 years,the site's been getting maintained by an AlbertV?

Sounds like that AlbertV is the guy to try and reach if so!

teako is the one that stated he had got ahold of Mark on why the site was dropped. However, I had heard nothing more of anyone getting ahold of Pollard. It might be a case of just not answering emails.

It seemed Albert was doing most of the maintenance (he was doing the reviews), but I think he was surprised at this as well (or he has not said anything to the contrary.)

I can't believe Pollard deleted the data (apparently they got it back). Reading the following I thought of Mark: "I’ve made many decisions over the years, a few not popular..."

I'm curious on what is going to pop up, but it will probably be just the same (unless they upgrade the forum software, it is annoying sometimes what problems pop up when you do that.)

Not sure Mark's all that interested in being a mod anywhere tbh Mo, if he was he'd probably be a mod here by now!

I'm not sure if I ever joined the kfc forums, but I'll also contribute some cash once a donations page gets set up. I might even sign up once that's up & running again!

I think I'll stick to here. I rather like the cosey team we have here. Kung Fu Cinema forums mostly became an excuse for goofball posters to make daft threads.

There were still a few good writers (like Dr. Ngor) who wrote plenty on martial art movies. Albert was doing reviews at a pretty good clip (I sometimes had issues with his reviews). I had a mass of material there as well (luckily it is coming back). Also as a reference spot, there was plenty to look for there.

Really there was just one big poster who made many daft threads.

Being a mod or admin can be tiring -- if people come to the site and you do it right (keep on on thread splits, cleaning up etc...).
