Evil Dead 2 - I checked my DVD last night and the picture seemed brighter than I remember.

Checked some comparisons shots and faces look plasticy on the BD

That's because they are plasticky, they Noise Reduced the old Anchor Bay dvd to hell and back. Scares me more than any film.

Mind you I am sure a new version of Evil Dead 2 will be on us soon on Blu Ray and will decimate that piece of crud out now.

You're probably right - maybe for the 25th Anniversary or something.
The 2001 DVD actually has some cool menus and the "This film may be too intense for people under 17"
I'll watch and see but will probably hold onto the old release now.
I looked at a grab of Ash's face with blood on it - in the DVD grab I could make out the sweat, stubble etc which is all gone in the BD grab.

Ohh I expect it will be before the 25th Anniversary, as they know people want it now as long as they put in the amazing effort they did with Evil Dead, well Evil Dead 2 will look amazing, hopefully

Having a quick look, I thought the transfer looked fine, but I've seen this movie with a few different translations now (TV broadcast, VHS, R1 and Korean remaster). The end credits are completely different from the TV version - must be a different print (the copyright date says 1999 rather than 1994 for some reason).
When I watched it on Channel 4 and VHS, it had these credits:

Ahhhh... I'm a huge cheapskate, so I love the sales which always take place in the new year. Bought a new coat today, plus 2 new coats for my girlfriend (no idea if she'll like them), and it cost a total of 138 euro, where the coat that I bought was 180 euro before the sale

Yesterday bought 2 new sweaters at MEXX for 40 euro combined.

I really can't understand why people buy stuff full-price. Just a little patience usually pays off big-time.

Now I just need to do some jeans-shopping, which I HATE. They never seem to have pants which are just right for me ...

There are a bunch of EA games on sale over at the Xbox marketplace. I tried the trial for Deathspank. Loved it. Purchased it for 600 points.

Little Big Planet 2 CE, from Axel Music, for about 75-80 euro delivered. It's the USA version, which means there might be problems with the DLC, but I usually don't buy DLC, so hopefully it will be OK, and considering Axel ships from within the EU, it should be OK customs-wise as well...

I'm waiting for Lovefilm to send me LBP 2.
